We have had this rooster since he was 6weeks old. The last couple of days we have been letting them out of the chicken coop to roam around the yard. Now the rooster is attacking myself and my daughter who is 3. I have added a pic to show you what type of rooster he is. I told my partner that...
The rooster we have crows at different times during the night and into early morning. I am not sure if this is normal or is there away (apart from the obvious dinner plate solution) to stop him crowing at these silly hours. Thanks
We have 6 rhode Island red hens and 1 rooster. Not sure what breed he is. Every day we have been getting eggs and every day I find one broken on the ground and egg all over the rooster. The hens have a good area to lay and also seem to want to lay in the same nest box. I am puzzled at what is...
I have noticed with my hens that they will only lay if the sun is shining on the laying box. If it is a cloudy day they will not lay but as soon as it's sunny again they lay. Today we got 4 eggs. Is this what happens or are my hens just picky? Thanks
I am sooo sorry for you and your dog. I hope you are going to the authorities about this. I am sure they will charge who ever did this and also charge them with tresspassing. Good Luck anyway.
It is a good feeling to get that first egg....unfortunately mine was broken. But congrats to you and I too am waiting for that 2nd egg. Hoping today. Good luck to you.
Hi, one of my hens has been in the nest box for a while now and is moving the hay around and putting it behind her. Is this the behaviour of the hens before laying? We have Isabrown hens. Thanks to anyone for your help.
We got our first egg laid today. I went into the chicken coop and found it broken and no where near the laying boxes. Can anyone tell me if this is something that happens. I have had a fake egg in the boxes to show the girls where to lay them. Not sure what happened!
Hi, My name is Bec and I have recently got some hens and a rooster. I live in Qld with my partner and 2 kids. I am looking forward to finding out lots on here and also to my hens laying their first eggs.
I am not sure how to put a pic on here yet but I will give it a go.
