Our cats are excellent with the chickens, we've never had problems. One of them actually lives with the chickens, sleeps in the nest boxes etc. But I have heard of people who have had problems with cats and their birds.

I currently have 20 chickens of laying age (probably from 8 months to 1 year). And a whole lot of baby chicks from 1-3 weeks of age (haven't counted those :oops:)
Here is a Frizzle Polish bantam rooster I had around a year ago. I had to sell him due to space issues (one of my biggest regrets). He was such a character, I loved his funky personality and hairdo.
I recently contacted the person who bought him, and ordered a pair of his chicks. Hopefully...
That's the unfortunate thing about free ranging. Not many people are able to do it due to predators. We are fortunate to live in an area where there are many trees to shelter the chickens, and we also own a flock of geese. They are like our chicken guard dogs ;)
Time to introduce my flocks of Cochin Bantams. I currently have a flock of Wheaten and a flock of Silver Partridge (both frizzle and straight). I plan on adding a few more colours in the near future. I'm breeding and selling them at the moment, but they are also my pets. Because I can't live...
