My birds all free range and I had a Khaki Campbell duck go broody a few weeks back and I was never able to find her nest. She would show up every other day or so and get a drink and then disappear again. Well, yesterday she was running back and forth in the yard makin a bunch of noise so I knew...
They both hatched! I even got to watch and got the second one on video My first hatch went well! I put 11 of my chicken's eggs in there, only 2 were fertile and they both seem very healthy. Thanks BYC for all the help! They hatched about 14 hours short of exactly 21 days.
@ 13 Hours...
WooHoo! I just got home for lunch and one or both of my eggs are chirping! I can't wait until they start opening the egg! Guess all my patience the last 3 weeks is starting to pay off haha
Edit: I looked at the eggs a little closer and both are pipped! They are taking a break right now... I get...
Ok! Lockdown it is!
I have a new Hova Bator 1588 with a turner... and it's been between 89.1 and 99.7 the whole time, usually 99.3-99.5 and the humidity has been between 29-36% the whole time, mostly around 33% so I'm real impressed with this incubator! Is it Friday yet?
Well I'm really anxious, as you probably understand haha... I put the eggs in at 11:00 AM on the first... so is it going to hurt anything if I lockdown today at 11:00 AM? I candled again last night and both of my eggs are still alive!

I put some eggs in on the first also, and I'm just wanting to check my math... wouldn't it mean that tomorrow morning is the 18th day? I just don't want to do my lockdown a day late! This is my first time hatching
Well, since I didn't get an answer I tried it, and in case someone else could use the info, I gave it to them in the same dose as the chickens and it didn't bother them a bit!
I've searched and searched and can't find an answer one way or the other, so hopefully you have one. I have 10 chickens and 3 Khaki ducks in the same coop. I know at least one chicken has worms, so I got some Wazine 17. If the chickens have worms, I assume the ducks could have them? Should I...
Thank you sooo much rcentner! I did a lot of searching yesterday on here and was having the problem that everyone contradicts each other. I'll be making a trip to the feed store in the morning and getting them treated!
I have three Khaki ducks in with them, I would assume they need to be...
I have 10 chickens in the coop and I discovered this yesterday. No one is acting or looking sick. I think it's probably worms but I'm not sure. If they are, what kind? I've done a Google search on different types of worms and couldn't find anything that looked like this. Oh, by the way, don't...
Thanks everyone for all of the info! I feel confident I know who everyone is now I've been wanting an easter egger, and didn't know I already had one, so that was a fun surprise! Also glad to hear my SLW rooster is a purebred, I should be getting some purebred SLW's out of my first run in the...
