I have 6 hens - 2 White Crested Black Polish Chickens, 2 Ameracaunas 1 RIR and 1 Red Star - they love bananas, apples, carrots, beans, leafy vegetables, string cheese (occasional) and since their feed only contains 16% protein, i give them soy beans, beets, etc) my hens like bread, cooked...

Thank you for sharing your story! I never thought how much I would care and darn it - I love my hens! My hubby and I make sure that they have the best food and treats, clean their run and roost, clean water and lots of sunshine and exercise!! We take such pleasure when they are sooo excited...

I have a Thelma (RIR) and a Louise too - Red Star.!!! My Louise gives me the biggest brown eggs and is a great layer!!

Thank you but I believe I have contacted every one who breeds SFH - there is someone here in mill valley who has a 1.5 yr old SFH but I'm still waiting for pictures. I have googled a lot breeders - I don't really want eggs because I don't have a set up for incubating them and I can't take...
