I just had a problem with my incubator and fried all my eggs....it was to be the last batch of the season.....All my breeds are usually separated by breed so there is no interbreeding, and because that was to be my last hatch of the season i let them all free range together. My question is how...

I candled the eggs and there is nothing....all the eggs are dead.....bad thing is i can't reset the hatch all my hens have interbred........I only hatch pure breed chicks Oh well no free ranging for a while i guess must keep everyone penned until i can get some more eggs

on my first hatches i had the digital and a cheaper regular outdoor mercury one in both incubators.....seeing that my hatches where very good and temps good...i took out the mercury thermometers to keep an eye on the temp for my broody pens.....big freaking mistake.....one digital is now to high...

its been my experience with many breeds that the males will feather slower than the females. I have been 90% accurate sexing my chicks in this way. I have ameraucannas, buff orprington and brahmas and i had all my roosters and females sexed by 3 weeks old. I wasn't as successful with the barred...

I have 3 baby silkies about three weeks old. My white one is feathering up nicely but my two black ones have bald spots all over like they lost the fluff to fast and the feathers haven't had a chance to start growing. I've never seen chicks do this before and its my first time raising silkies...
