On to the roof!
My floor is not PT so it was stressful to see rain in the forecast. The roof was two sheets of plywood, one sheet on each side. I definitely needed help getting that on. Standard asphalt roof went on soon after.
Asphalt worked out to be...

Framing from here on was traditional framing of the window and door openings. This helped to make the structure solid. The framing kit doesn't call for this and relies on the siding to give the building rigidity. I wanted lots of windows so I needed more framing.
I am putting in 7...

Finishing up the Hen House! The peeps are getting big so they will move in before the house is done. This set the priority of what gets done first. I needed to get the wire on the run and the floor down in the house.
Linoleum floor tiles! This is looking more like a house now! The...
I changed my plans for the house several times always growing the house larger! First I was going to go with the duck house 3x6 and lift it up on 3 ft legs and close it in. When I decided not to house the ducks and chickens together it opened up my possibilities with the hen house. I had...
My Hen house build took what seemed like forever. I built it mostly by myself with a little help from DH, especially toward the end (thank you DH for helping when I was almost ready to give up). I started before my chicks got here and still ended up racing to get it done before they got too...

I think this is correct! I remember seeing commercials years ago (in NH) that went something like this...
"brown eggs are local eggs and local eggs are fresh"
Not sure where the white eggs were coming from but the local farms must have been behind the brown eggs!
I am not done with my hen house or my page! But I don't want to miss out so I will post my link!

I am almost done with the house but many of my pictures are in my camera so I should be able to get my pages caught up to the hen house...
I have a 3ft x 6ft duck house and a 12 x 8 run for my duck(s). The house is open on one side and I find ducks just prefer to be out so I use the house so the food stays dry.
I used to have doors on it (with no run) and would put the ducks up at night because of predidation. It was work to...
Holly smoke! That is huge!
If the turkeys don't work out I bet you could put 3 horses in that space!
Good luck, I am on my 3rd month of building my chicken taj mahal. DH says I will have to sell eggs for 10 years to recoup my money from this one!
No picture because I am in the middle of building my coop and am about to start framing so I have been frantically trying to come up with a window solution.
I will take pictures of my windows if they come out OK!
I hope I don't regret it but I went to Hobby Lobby and bought some picture frames...
I used the welded wire on my duck run/house.
One problem I have had is some times the joints give and I end up with breaks to fix. On the bottom we have a bunch of gaps made from weed whacking around the run. Weed whacker has made a mess out of the welded wire.
Duck run/house is getting a...
Oakland, thanks for the offer.
It has been confirmed that we are indeed grandfathered in for keeping domestic fowl on our property thanks to my ducks!
Ducks make wonderful place holders!
Apparently even if we sell our place the new owner will have 6 months to get the grandfathered animals...
My original plans called for the coop to look like a play house so I will stick with that. Not sure how fast I can get it done doing it by myself so I doubt it will be complete in one weekend.
What is considered portable? Skids, concrete blocks, deck supports.
I feel your pain! Read my build with out a permit thread.

Pain in the tail feathers these permit things are!
