Ohhhh, (can you see my blank look) you are probably right. Bummer. That makes sense. She has been traumatized. Sigh. I was hoping for babies. Well. Um. He is getting to old for our suburban farm anyways.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE POST. I THINK I KNOW WHAT WE NEED TO DO.
Thank you Cocoaskin where ever you are now to start this thread. It was a question that I wanted to ask. I mean I kind of know that the only reason the roo would be soo unromantic at times was the mating process. However how the fertilization process I could not figure out. I'm glad I did not...
In the 70- 80's we had eggs consistantly. Than, it went to 103's an production dropped. (my production is 1-2 eggs every other day) now that it is 90's they are at it again.
We started seperating our large chickens from the Bantams. Now that the large dominant rooster is gone, I will let them mix. The bantams are still getting pecked, just not as bad. Odd thing is the bantams fuss about not being with the large chickens. . The large chickens came to us 3 months ago...
I began noticing this with our large chickens were about the same age. They started to peck the mature small bantams. We now separate them...of course yours are same size etc. I 'll read the replies to you for more info..

By the way is there a breed called Mohawk. Can you...
So new to raising keeping backyard chicks.
My son's show banty started showing up with a missing section of comb and missing feathers. This occurred once our cute feed store spring chicks reached about 3 months old. I noticed the adolescent or teenage rooster started jumping and "attacking"...
