I am aware of the lack of good hatch rates of shipped eggs. But if that is all I'm able to find im willing to give it a try. I would love to be able to find juveniles or adults but that doesn't seem to be an option.
Found one of my pekins while cutting the fields.
It was the female half of a pair. And was found while cutting the fields. That pair is not locked up at night they sleep by the pond.
It looked like what ever it was ate nothing but the insides. What does that?
I was just curious if that was something you were allowed to do.
I would love to hatch some and release them into the wild if it was legal to do.
Sorry if this was a dumn question I was just curious.
Where should I get my order of chick shipping boxes? I have all the supplies to send them frozen but do not have what I need to send them live.
Is there a good place to buy them that is not an arm and a leg?
USPS does not guarantee live animals. You should be able to get a refund for the amount of shipping but you will not be able to get a refund from the post office for the cost of the birds.

My baby chicks were hatched on Dec 14th.
They spent the first 10 days inside under heat lamps and fed medicated food. I then switched them to the unheated but insulated and enclosed garage with a heat lamp which is where they have been for almost 3 weeks now.
My next steps is to move them to...

No puffy cheeks either :-(
I don't think anyways. I ordered some Amercauna ( I think I spell that wrong). I will try to get some pics soon.
No hatchery sells Ameraucanas...you have to get them from a breeder. Whatever you got from the hatchery would be considered an Easter Egger...

I know how you feel.
I put 42 eggs in the incubator a few days ago as well. Not to mention the 25 chicks brooding in the garage. I am not sure what I was thinking at the time but oh well.
They could be hatching any day now... I think this is day 20 ish.
