I HAD five bantam chicks and three days ago I went outside to take care of them and two of them were dead. They had food and water and the other ones were fine. The next day we were gone all day and we got home at dark so I went to take care of them and one was pacing around one the cage floor...

My bantam hen just hatched 5 baby chicks this morning. I put them on a small old rug, because I have heard that the chicks should be on something besides chick bedding untill a certain age. I have forgotten what age that is. Could someone please tell me what it is? Thanks,RDFarms

I didn't have straw, all I had was was chick shavings , but I think she is fine with the idea.

I put lukewarm water, dog flea and tick shampoo, and dish detergent in a spray bottle and spray it on the mite area twice daily for 5 days.
