Thanks for the input
If I do enter, it would only be for fun. I would never expect to do well, just something for the scrapbooks!
Too bad there isn't a "sweetest chicken" entry- lol, no doubt she would win.
Thanks again, Rebecca
What a great thread! I love all these doggie pictures.
I will add a few of my own, of course

How I got them all to sit still for this is a wonder, no doubt!

Congratulations- what a beautiful little goat! You had me (and I think a lot of us) sitting on the edge of the chair waiting for news!
I am so relieved it all worked out and you have a new little bundle of goat joy
Don't forget to post what you decide to name the little guy!
Hi everyone,
Like I said above, I am a TOTAL beginner when it comes to chicken genetics and showing. I did have a thought of entering my buff orpington hen into the local fair- mainly because I think she is pretty (again, with my complete novice eye) and would love to have an experience like...
Oh that would be so much fun to turn into a coop! And how adorable! That would seriously tempt me if I hadn't just spent the last month building a new coop, lol
Like someone said before me-- Go For It! (I am not enabling, just encouraging!)
Thanks for all the super kind words. I love the ideas of either putting a lip around the top of the nestbox or adding a piece of plywood at a 45 degree angle. I will see which works the best.
And roosts for inside the run is a great idea- I never even thought of that! What is the best thing...
So it *only* took about a month to finish and there are still decorating touches to add but I couldn't be happier. We have no construction skills what-so-ever so it was a great leap of faith to buy all the materials- haha.
We live in sunny Florida and don't have to worry about cold weather...
I have two barred rock hens (age 3 years) and one buff orpington (age 9 months). Yesterday after completing a new chicken coop/run (yay!), we put the BO in followed by a couple hours with the BRs. They had never lived together before but had shown aggression towards each other on a few...
Thanks for the great ideas. I found the perfect plastic box with vented lid for the 7 week chicks (they will ride in the truck cab). And I found an old (but good condition) bunny cage that we secured in the truck bed (near the cab so the wind goes over them). I will pick up a tarp on the way...
I am SO excited
Tomorrow, I am picking up 2 barred rock hens and 2- seven week old buff Orpingtons. I am driving about 2 hours away for these gals (gasp, oh the gas!) and want to know what is the best way to transport them home. I will have a large truck and would like to secure one of my...
Wow! What an incredible coop:D I would love to have your handy-man skills! We recently put together our first chicken coop- I thought we did a great job, until I saw yours! HaHa
Very nice and impressive!

Hi all,
I'm brand new to backyard chickens (well, new to all things chickens, actually) and am in need of three or four laying hens.
My hubby and I just finished building our chicken house (our first one- how exciting!). It is approximately 4 feet wide x 4 feet tall x 5 feet deep with three...
I don't suppose you have any hens still available?
I am a newby to chickens and just finished building a coop. I would love to have three or four hens but I haven't been able to find any hens available.
Thanks
