    I'm also on the FR Colorado. Mine took an age to get to beetle stage (over 3 months) and now I have a billion beetles only. No sign of small worms yet, but I'm thinking that our dry conditions just put everything into slow motion.

    mine is 250 watt, but I have horizontal nipples in stead of more usual vertical ones. I found the vertical nipples froze, but since changing to horizontal nipples, have had no issues. (-25C today) I think the vertical nipples are longer, so would be more prone to freezing as the extremely of...

    ha, yeah, again shouldn't have been in there :D I know the heater is via a thermocube, and I assume the pump is the same? This is my project for Monday.

    silly question - I understand what the heater does, but why the pump? Is that to move the water around to help it from freezing again?
