DW just called and said she saw another playset converted to a chicken coop on Southport Road West of I-65. She says there is a chain link fence around the yard and a lot more chickens running around than we have. It's spreading.
Today's gathering. My second EE finally laid an egg. Woohoo!!! And it's a green one. I think one of the other's came from the first EE but not blue or green. I was afraid I would have two EE's and no colored eggs.
Hmm... first I heard of weighing food. Why do you do that? I make sure the feed doesn't run out and change the water every day. Will chickens get fat like Max? Or maybe they poop less? That would be a good reason. How do you know how much is enough? Or does this have something to do...
Umm... are you excited about getting the Cochins?
You saying Max is fat? He was a stray until my son decided he couldn't survive without us. My wife had him declawed because he was tearing up furniture so we don't let him out any more. He couldn't defend himself. He did escape for about...
Thanks, they are saying that because it was about 7pm and I just locked them in. They were out all day. It is completely covered with 2x4 fencing to keep the hawks out. Squirrels get through though. I saw one having snack in the feeder once.
I was thinking about you wanting yours to go...
That is an awesome picture. Now I want a barred rock.
I got a little closer to finishing my coop before winter today. Welcome to my hot dog stand, lol. That's what it looks like This side was completely open all summer. There is still fencing in over the coop area. I made it so I can...
Ok, I remember reading about an old disabled man laughing about his dog attacking someone's chickens here. Was that you? If so, sorry, it is hard to keep up with everyone here when you are new. I will presume that you are the same member. If animal control is not doing anything and they are...
No problem. I won't tell anyone. Who woulda thunk you would ever be wrong. Not me. You are right about the plastic peepers. I had to peeper another one today.
I have been hanging both feeders and waterers since mine were in the brooder. after a couple of weeks I got tired of them...
Hmm... maybe but I had a pretty good look at this chicken's nostrils and I can't see through them. I did a lot of reading about peepers before buying them and they are not legal in the UK. I know Wiki is not always right and you can't believe everything you read on the Internet but I will give...
The problem with those is the pins actually pierce through the chickens nostrils. Pinless peepers just clip on. Not sure I could do that. I put off using the pinless type because I thought I had the pecking stopped. Had to get pretty upset with the bully to finally use it but I'm glad I did...
They have pegs that go in the nostrils. John made me draw the eyes on. He insisted when I was talking about them before.
That's exactly what I thought, lol.
Ebay. They come with the pliers and you can get different colors. Here's a link to the peepers I bought...
I posted about my feather pecking problem a long while back, I think end of July or first of August. I bought pinless peepers back then but never used them. I blue-koted the poor White Rock that was getting the most abuse and she has recovered pretty well since then. Still ugly but at least...
Awesome. That's hilarious.
I'm pretty sure Kiniska is serious about bleaching your feet and wearing croc's. I wear the croc's all the time. I can wash them with dish soap and let them air dry. Very comfortable. Never have bleached my feet though.
