Fortunately they are better today. I let out when i got home from work.They played in a mud puddle and swam in their pool. They sure seemed spooky. I just put them away a few minutes ago. i will probably let them stay out longer tomorrow.
The neighbors dog is gone now. They moved away on Sunday, the dog broke its cheap rope and instead of waiting for it to come ho m e they left. They came back after the damage was done.
Sunday the neighbors dog killed six of my 12 ducks. The survivors are still trauamatized. All they do is sit in the corner of the coop. When i come in they just huddle together. They want no part of comming outside. Will they ever get over it?

The weather has been crappy the last two days, temps in the 30's, and snow this morning. My poor 5 week old ducklings would love to get out of the coop. But i think it is too cold. What do you think? They have most of their feathers. And they have oil glands now.
yes, I had one of my mallard ducklings that was about a third of the size of the others. I did everything I could for it. I feed it and gave it water and treats before the others and vitamins before the others. Sadly she passed away. I would try to give it as much extra food and vitamins as...
I let the ducklings outside for the first time today. They eventually had fun and took a little bath. They are 4 weeks old tomorrow. I heard one doing a squeky quack, so at lest one hen. Hopefully more. They have feathers on the their bellies and getting a few wing feathers.[/IMG]
