Sounds to me like it is just preference. I got one of each females because it seemed like a good plan lol. Heard some comments though that if you have them and one of your ducks comes up missing or hurt or anything wrong nine out of ten times it's a gold phase... It helps you keep track of eggs whether in incubator or under mum you can put when they started and what kind of bird and it calculates hatch day and notifies you and all kinds of stuff. If incubator it auto fills in temps and all kinds of useful info when you select bird type. I was impressed...- WackyQuacky

You guys may already know this but I found the coolest free app this morning. It's called EggHatcher. I just played with it for a few minutes but seems quick easy and very functional now I'm all ready for when mine lay eggs hahaha. Have an awesome Monday- WackyQuacky

Ok you asked about introducing with the ducks. I don't know how it goes with chickens so I don't have a comparison, but what I have seen so far is the little ones want to be with the big ones and the big ones kinda just keep walking/ running away for a bit then the big ones will settle a little...- WackyQuacky

I only have ducks and I am new to that, however I love reading everything that everyone writes and a lot of stuff you write about the chickens can work with ducks and of course there are duck tails too. Here are a few more pics of my new Welshy babies ;) Here they are meeting the 7 week old Khakis.
