Tatanka Breeders Club: Meat Quail project with history, discussion, pictures and videos

Question for Moby How do you introduce the males and the females? I noticed that you have them in individual pens. I have tried taking hens out of different cages and putting them with a male then the fights break out. Just wondering what your secret is. I have kind of the same setup as you...

Tatanka Breeders Club: Meat Quail project with history, discussion, pictures and videos

I just ordered eggs from JMF. Robbie told me that for large eggs for egg sales I should get the JM Pharaoh. If I wanted meat birds to go with the A&M or the American Pharaoh. Nice guy to talk to just wish I had a note pad while talking to him.

the chicken plucker is from the whizbang chicken plucker book. we followed the book to the letter. we used a 2 inch drive pulley and a 12 inch driven pulley. It was pretty simple. I work in a machine shop to the metal working was not hard. While we were making this one a couple other...

    Tough but moist

Hey Jamie Glad to here that your leg problems stopped. I am not sure if the mineral pak could be labeled organic or not. It is all natural with no animal byproducts. That was our big concern. Use just 10 lbs to 90 lbs of grain and you will be just fine. With this pak your birds will use more of...

wow jamie That was fast. You watched us process chickens on Mon morn and you are doing one in the evening. that is pretty cool. How long before you build a chicken plucker like we have? That thing is pretty cool Eh? That is the first time I ever saw 2 chickens plucked in 30 seconds. Let me know...

    *BEST STORE BOUGHT INCUBATORS*

I really like my Brower top hatch. Easy to use easy to clean and has the tuner included. The top is clear so you can watch. The heat element is a 60 watt light bulb. They kept it simple.

Ordering eggs online, is it worth it?

I order eggs from time to time just to get a fix. Sometimes you just hear the bator calling your name. It is always fun. Once you find someone who ships you eggs that will have a good hatch rate you can stick with them.

Little Giant Poultry Fountain + Water Hose explained in depth **PICS**

That is cool. We use the $6.oo cattle waterer from the farm supply store. We put them in 5 gal pails that we modify (cut up) so the chickens can drink out of them. These float type waterers can take up to 60 lbs of presure from the hose. Thanks for the explination I always wondered how those worked.
