• All 10 babies (5 hens, 5 Pullets) are laying - so much fun with them each day! Spotted an Eagle soaring this morning - and they don't understand why they can't come out to free range today. I think only 1 one saw it - she came right into the henhouse when Dale opened the door for her. Currently we have been cutting, digging and pulling invasives which may be bad for them. So much grows too well in our rain forest.
Ayam Cemani x Mosaic - Mosey - available for a new flock Keeper..in the Portland area. Pics on Craigs list now - fairly certain this sweet bird is a Cockerel. 9.5 weeks. Appreciate a re-homing Fee - or propose a Barter? 2 Marans already went to a new home and will get to have babies!

Mosey Cemani and Silver are in welcome quarantine now at an awesome Goat Farm. They were literally birthing Kids while we were there. If interested I'll put you in touch. Western Oregon is a beautiful and diverse place...with farm-buying prices out of range already for most Oregonians.
What adorable pullets/ cockerels. Hope you and your chickens have a good day!

Thank you - they are having a great time outside every day now - and I am exhausted lol! Must confirm the Cockerels and re-home - which makes me sad. Such sweet boys, but can't live in the city.

My empathy is strong. No roos in the suburbs for me, but I had a large straight run and had to get rid of my sweet boys. I was attatched. :(

2 flocks of 5 now, to integrate ASAP. Had to say goodbye to 5 in 2 weeks! 4 got an life on acreage with critters and kids. I cried every time. Who knew Cockerels can tug heartstrings so much? I don't think I'll hatch again unless i get a broody. That said, I am reminded that part of the Sale/Barter for 2 Marans = #? EE/OE Chicks in a hatch. Could be a few weeks to a couple o years. Oh, Chicken Math!
Two weeks old this weekend for my 9 Hatchlings! They are sweet and lively and know my voice, answering with cheery peeps when i call out I'm comin girls! Chick check! The 6 big Girls were coaxed out of the Henhouse after several snow days. Seems 4 of the 6 are laying.

9 Babies almost 9 weeks old! 2 Marans may go to a new home tomorrow as a Breeding Pair. Blue is the sweetest Cockerel - but getting geat up by others, so he's going on to a different home. All 6 of the 2020 Pullets are laying almost daily! Summer will be bountiful - before their first Molt!
Had a slip n fall by the Chickie Run Dec 5. Arm bones broke at my wrist. Everything is difficult 1-handed, so not here much. 3 wks later i got a safer cast - still mostly laid out to avoid pain. Thanks for the Birthday Wishes! Healing OK, can wiggle fingers, but uncomfortable! May attempt a spring hatch...my Partner n a pal building a new Chicken yard...so there IS hope for 2021!! Best New Year wishes to you!
