Pros: Lay decent, fantastic personality, size
I have a pair of white Plymouth rocks that I purchased from a breeder. And I love them! I have always liked LF chickens and these are huge. I have only ever owned 1 HQ cockerel and he was a way smaller than even the pullet I have, both of which is full grown. So one reason i really like them is their size, they are huge! I did not like my HQ cockerel he was mean and liked to sneak attack, but my cockerel purchased from a breeder is a sweet heart and I love the pullet even more. They have great personalities. I would recommend getting them from a breeder versus a hatchery. They are also pretty good layers. And if you are looking for a dual purpose bird they would be a great choice. I would definatley recommend them to either a beginner or an experienced owner.

Pros: Friendly, pretty, easy to handle, love to talk to you
Cons: Mine dont lay very often
I have some rose comb brown lehorns and they are great. I am actually going to get more this fall. Mine are extremly human friendly. My one I care around with me all the time. She just falls asleep when hold or carry her. She is very calm too. My other is a little more skitish but isnt bad. Mine are actually towards the bottom of the pecking order, but they couldnt care less. They talk my ear off! As soon as they see me coming they all just start chattering away. They talk to me the whole time i'm around. Mine actually dont lay that goodd, but I dont really care, because I dont eat eggs anyways. Overall they are great. I wouldnt part with them especially my one girl, she is my buddy! :)
Pros: Gerogeous birds, Lay beautiful eggs, I love to show them, Friendly
Cons: None that I can think of
Ameraucanas are georgeous birds. My favorite variety are the blue, but i love them all (white, black, buff, wheaten, blue wheaten, brown red, silver and the un accepted colors too lavender and splash). The blue eggs they lay are so pretty too. Personally Ameraucanas are my favorite breed. The first chicken I ever had was an ameruacana. I love to show them. All of mine are docile, really cold hardy, friendly, and I have realized other people have said that they pick on their other brds, but I have never had that problem with them. Also it seems like a lot of people say theirs are skitish, maybe I have been lucky but all mine are as friendly as could be. And speaking of cold hardy, I live in Indiana and the weather is so umperdictable, it get really cold and reallly warm. They do really well during the winter (I have never had one get to cold and die or anything like that). And as long as they had a shady place to relax they were good when it got really warm at. I think Ameraucanas are awesome birds and would make an awesome addition to your flock.
Pros: Awesome personalities, lay pretty eggs, entergetic, sweet, gentle
Cons: Can't be shown
EEs are awesome chickens. They are full of personality, sweet, gentle, loving, and entergetic birds. Also they lay beautiful eggs. All of my EEs are very sweet and kind. The only bad thing about them is they can't be shown, but isn't a big deal especially if you just want them for yout backyard flock.
