Pros: Great layers, Cold Hardy, Not Exteremely Wild, Good Foragers
Cons: Can Be Loud, One Likes Hidden Nests
I have two BSLs- supposed to be australorps. They lay good sized light brown, speckled gray eggs. My one BSL, Attila, LOVES hidden nests and has an obsession with black garbage bags. :) Polly, short for politian, is T-A-L-K-A-T-I-V-E, maybe not the best breed for a city chic. :) Mine are bigger, the right size for squeezing. They are very cold hardy, even though some vaseline on their combs/wattles would help. They don't take the heat the best - but I haven't lost any. Overall, great layers, friendly, and good foragers.

Pros: Very pretty, good layers
Cons: can be broody
I have 2 EE's, who where supposed to be ameracaunas. It doesn't matter much though, I wasn't planning on showing them. The 2 I have couldn't be more different!!!! One is tall and on the skinny side of the scale, lays long blue eggs, and is very broody!!!! My other one, though, is short and stoutish, lays small green eggs, and hasn't gone broody once! She IS the patroller of the nesting boxes, pulling her broody sister out when need be. :) It is very funny. Overall, great birds! 4/5 stars because of the broodiness. :)
Pros: Great layers, hardy
Cons: Tad bit noisy
I love my aussies! They are almost-everyday-layers of big eggs. One of mine lays a pinkish purplish eggs! The other lays a nice speckled brown. They are very cold hardy. They are not mean to the hens, but are on the top layer of the pecking order. The only 'con' I can think of is- they can be very vocal! One of mine is name 'politician' polly for short because she LOVES to talk! They are friendly birds too. They seem to get along very well with my Gold Stars. They have their own little Gold Star buddy they can almost always be seen with!

Pros: great layer, easy going, very pretty
Cons: None!
the gold stars i have are a wonderful layer of big brown eggs, almost every day. they are very easy to tame and great pets. the rich reddish brown infused with white is very pretty. They are very inquisitive. One of mine is named Nosy-always where she shouldn't be! In the kitty litter, the rabbit pens, ect.
