Pros: Freindly, great layers
Cons: none
My red stars, comets, cinnamon queens, or what ever you want to call them are the best birds in the world. the famous 'Bird' is a red star. They are great egg layers. Consistant for the last two years - Even in the winter months. They are so friendly they come when I call to them. Very sociable and good with strangers too. I use my one to teach with kids a lot. Very cold and heat tolerant.

My EE does not have the muffs, A hatchery chick without them..... She is so much fun to watch. A little flighty and does not like to be held. She is on the big size side as well. Fairs the temp. extreems really well too.

Pros: hearty, healthy, very independant
Cons: to nosy! got her in trouble
I had a GLRW girl for a year and a half. She was just wonderful. Stood up for herself, never got pushed around. Very good forager, good layer, clean, nice size. Friendly. She would jump up on my shoulder all the time. Very nosy about anything that didnt belong or was out of whack.

Pros: beautiful eggs
Cons: skitish
I have only one Ameraucana, but she is a ball. She is on the larger size, and is lacking any kind of beard, muff, etc. She gives me about 5 eggs per week at 9 months old. She is very flighty most of the time and was hard to tame down. She is the bottom of my pecking order of 12. She has a very docile temperment, shy, but when you are quiet with her she will come over and pick at your shoes, pants, jump on your shoulders. All around a great bird.

Cochin

Pros: Sweet and very docile
Cons: broody
I have two White Cochins that are now 9 months old. They are the sweetest most affectionate calm girls I have ever had. They were great chicks growing up and are great girls now! Princess went broody at 7 months. I would not let her sit, and I could not break her! finally after 8 weeks she gave up.

They do not seem to fight back when the rest of my flock are 'hen pecking' either. There is just no agression at all in these girls.
