Faverolles

Pros: Cute, fluffy, when not broody lays a bunch of eggs. Friendly! YAY!
Cons: Goes broody often, not always will have a beard or right coloring for variety.
I have two of these lovely ladies, i used to have three. They are extremely chatty, which i LOVE! None of them, sadly, are/were quality birds. Cocopuff and Roasted Marshmallow had no beards... (Cocopuff was the one that died) and Sassy or Sarsaparilla, has completely wrong coloring for a salmon favorelle, but still has a beard. Marshmallow loves to go broody, and from what I've heard from sassy's former owner she does too. They are great mothers, and typically are friendly and like people to a certain extent. If you want a friendly, broody hen, these guys are for you.

Cochin

Pros: Friendly, eats very little, pretty feathering, talkative (I LOVE talkative)
Cons: cleaning the feet
a little too docile, hens on day one gave him the what for.
I have a silver laced cochin rooster who is absolutely adorable. He giggles to call the girls over to eat. when he runs his legs look like stumps. He puts the ladies first always, it doesn't matter what he is doing. He fails almost every time he tries to mate though. Ive watched him fall off, get dragged, or run into something. He breaks up fights; he hates it when they do and screeches and grabs one of them so they can't fight anymore. Major Chaps is the best rooster i could've hoped for! I love him, he loves his ladies!
Purchase Price
$10 at five months (The people we bought him from found him on the side of the road a few days before)

Pros: Completely lovable. Will play with your feet, follow you everywhere and when younger will jump onto your leg.. or arm.... or shoulder......... or head! Falls asleep in arms when you stroke the afro.
Cons: Cant see as well, mine has run into a pole before. Aggressive to other chickens, which can be a good or bad thing.
These are amazing birds who love love love love people. What i mean by aggressive being a good or bad thing is because they might beat up the other hens, but that will protect them from getting their afro getting ripped out. They are fun to watch run around the yard. You don't need to worry so much about them being cold in the winter when they are younger since they become fully feathered at a very young age.

Pros: Beautiful feathers and fluff, perfect for cold weather, kid friendly, large, can teach tricks!!!
Cons: More likely to die from heat stroke than most breeds (specifically Dark Brahmas) They don't start laying for much longer than most breeds.
I have a super cute dark brahma who tramples over my feet for food. Tried to eat my tooth once. I guess i had something stuck in there. I can teach her to jump across things.

Pros: Giant eggs, barely fit in carton. Very docile and great personality.
Cons: Talking. But i love talking, some people don't
Absolutely love my Silver Laced Wyandotte. She lays big, almost ball shaped eggs. She loves people and will hang around you if your gardening, loves getting fed worms. I have plenty of hilarious stories about her.
