I live in the interior of Alaska. It's cold in the winter, colder than a lot of places but I like it here. I live in the midst of beauty on nearly an acre, and that near acre is gold! Not in a literal sense but rather in what it has to offer. There is birch which provides gum, syrup, headache...
I meant color, not breed! I am not sure why you feel the need to take me so literally on everything but I find it to be taking away the light heartedness that is suppost to be on this forum. Besides what stake do you have in wether or not it becomes a color? Can we forget about the whole...
I would love to dig up a few book names for you! The five years would begin at the point in time that you decided to make it a breed but I think that is not an issue as Alicia has decided not to try and get the color recognised at this point.
Alicia- My thoughts would be to get a white duck...
Turbo, I have spent endless hours learning about anconas. They are listed in many books dated from before Holderead's writings. My assumtion would be that he would not have sold his ancona stock as he would still be getting anconas from his magpies and still have a need to sell them. Magpies are...
As far as breeds go Ancona and Magpie are two seperate breeds, both heritage breeds, both endangered breeds. Anconas are only slightly larger and have a very kind nature without any dominance issues. Anconas are one of the best egg layers. Magpies are pretty good to from what I hear.
As far as...
Cetawin- yes, she ships and yes she has moved and there will only be a possible few that may be available but you might get some eggs from her and put them under your ancona! I know she will have plenty of those!
Your welcome Cetawin but I must warn you that I will be horribly jealous and happy for you at the same time. If you get them you must post pictures so that I may make myself crazy over the cuteness of the ducklings that I didn't get!
Oh, I love all the pics Sigh, I keep telling myself that it isn't that long until March!
Tara, google chinook ancona and it should bring up two breeders in Canada!
Well, we've been getting a bit of a cold spell here so we're going to wait till' next spring All of the posts about how wonderfull they are sure makes me want them even more! I loved the pics and would love to see more!
Please post your babies here BayyJayy! That way I can live vicariously...
Only God knows the answer..... If you have been praying then pray that he will be here as long as he was meant to be. A loss of any life is hard but don't ever discount it before it has a chance. my parents were told that I wouldn't live 24 hours and I'm a year away from thirty!
The membrane is not white but rather the layer over the membrane. If you end up needing to help the ducxkling more, trhen very carefully take this layer off before proceeding and you will be able to tell if the membrane still has blood.
