That is a fabulous find!! I'm so jealous (:
I've been searching everywhere for a perfect thing like that but no such luck. They have a little mini tub that they outgrew.
I gave in to this cheap kiddie pool I found at kmart. I know it isn't going to last and it's a pain to fill... but I wanted...
I'm in California and I bought off eBay before from Oregon. Ordered 12 Saxony duck eggs and had 11 (1 was infertile) of them hatch. I had no trouble whatsoever and it was my first time.
Two years later, I decided to eBay off 6 Call duck eggs. Seller packed them very nicely but most of them...
I've been searching similar threads, but can't really find an exact answer
I ordered Call Duck eggs from a seller and they are on their way. I'm very excited and researching tons on this breed. I've had Saxony ducks before and I'm very excited to have Call Ducks. However, I learned that Call...
If you eBay search duck eggs there's a bit of sellers offering eggs. I bought my Saxony eggs like that and got 11 ducklings out of 12 eggs (1 was not fertile).
Hello everyone!
My ducklings are now two-three days old.
Porky is doing great!! (: He just has dead blood clot looking thing where the bulge used to be. But he's eating and playing like any of the other ducklings.
I just wanted to post a few pictures of my lovely new family...
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!!
You guys are so amazing. I don't know what I would've done without this forum.
Thank you for helping this first timer. It was a WONDERFUL incubating and hatching experience.
A little update on Porky:
Porky is sitting up and its eyes are twinkling. Thanks...
Wow, thank you everyone for your help.
Porky seems to be getting a bit better. He's not as weak before and I tried keeping him on the wet cloth but he keeps moving around to different places in the incubator.
He likes to rest in different places and chirp at things once in a while.
I'll...
Thank you all for your replies. I'm so relieved that I can receive help like this!
I will let Porky stay in there for a bit but my humidity level has been 85% and some of my ducklings had some trouble drying off.
Is that too high? Is there a way to lower it so they dry faster?
I'm sorry. I didn't realize that I posted the same picture twice. Here is a better second picture.
Well it's name is Porky (Because it was the biggest egg. Almost 2x the others) and it's sad to see it struggle so much.
If it didn't finish absorbing the yolk.. is it doomed to die? Can I just...
I had a duckling that pipped at the wrong end. Everyone else is out and it's the last one ... Everyone started hatching Tuesday.
The poor thing made an external pip but only the shell and not the membrane.
I struggled and debated after a while that it would soon suffocate. It was the first one...

I was suppose to go into lockdown on Monday but I had eggs that were rocking and about to internally pip on Saturday (Could see it poking at the air sac when candled) and panicked.
I went into early lockdown that Saturday night and things were going great.
I had one egg that externally...
So I'm just inserting it next to the wingnut.. but it seems so .. unstable?? and when I try to tighten it.. it seems there's too much pressure onto the ceramic portion of the lamp?
Sigh. Thank you! I'll try to mess with the wingnut.
I'm trying to set up my brooder and I'm running into problems with my brooder lamp.
I know this must be a total newbie question BUT better to ask than be sorry later, right?
How do I connect the clamp part to the lamp? Is the top part of the clamp a screw or something?? It doesn't seem to...

When it seems like they're trying to breakthrough to the air sac, does that indicate that they're ready for lockdown? I can see one of my eggs poking its beak but haven't actually punctured the air sac.
Sorry I'm side tracking your question davekrista. Mine were rocking also and I...
Hello!
My seller suggested 50~55% humidity for the first 1-24 days and 80%~85% for 25~28 (lockdown).
The seller raises Saxony ducks so I'm pretty sure that this is reliable information. I'm on day 24 and mine are developing very nicely.
Here are some photos of my seller's (katharina on...
So I candled one of them..
And I'm not sure what to look for? The air sac seems to be larger than usual. When I candled before, the air sac has like a straight line that borders the air.. but now it looks as if it's .. watery? There's no definite line of the air sac anymore.
There's one part...
