    Wounded Chicken Foot Tips?

We had a rat in our coop and I’m not sure if she got bit on the foot from the rat or if she got into a skirmish at bed time on the roost, her wound was healing and then today someone pecked it open and all heck broke loose so instead of using blu kote I set her up an emergency kennel in the...

Pullet holds one wing higher than the other?

I’ve noticed it’s not broken or sprained and her wing has been like this throughout her growth development so far, just the way she holds it I guess?

    Chick+broody hen adoption attempt tonight......nervous

Well it was a fail...She got scared and pecked at them (and thew one of them ) DON'T WORRY THOUGH, THEY WERE FINE. Scared me though, I put them in a brooder. I also am giving them away to another chicken owner today. At least all my hens get a supply of 40lbs of non medicated chick starter now lol.

I have 2 pullets and 4 big girls. Pullets are 18 mo. They are fully integrated since 8 weeks. They all roost at night except one, she stares at the roost and looks afraid to jump up there and ends up sleeping under the wall feeder. They have plenty of room to jump and the 2by4 roost is 8 feet...

I did a stupid. Feeling horrible...

Thanks, yeah lesson well learned. Maybe other newcomers will learn from this post. The more and more I think about it, the pullet was smaller than the other and she had been sneezing for 2 weeks, plus she was slow to catch on to anything. Maybe the big ones sensed that too... Anyways lesson...

I did a stupid. Feeling horrible...

So I ignored guidelines and put my 3 5 week old pullets in with my flock of four,no wire cage, just boxes for them to hide with, multiple feed stations etc. The coop and run is big enough for tons of chickens even tho I had 4 so I thought it would work fine.I kept checking on them...It's my...
