Not my car, that pic has been floating around the 'net for years.
As far as the plans, I kept drawing out what I wanted on graph paper and then after 10 - 12 versions, decided on this one. The pipe is a PVC feeder, just pull the cap and fill the tube. I have one just like it on another coop...
I hatched some last year, but I had mama chicken doing all the work. Now that I want a some more, not one of my girls wants to sit so I had to fire up the incubator. It's amazing how much easier it was to let mama take care of everything!
This is my first set, so I am glad to have found you. I set a total of 11, nothing special, but you can never have enough!.
I am using the same LG 9200, without the turner.

"Hey, I know you just pulled that out of my pocket, but they are not my drugs, I am holding them for a friend..... besides, these are not even my pants!"
This was a concern for me too......at first. Once I cracked a few eggs and saw that they looked, well, just like an egg, it is no longer an issue. I do tell the egg customers that we have a rooster with the hens, that way they know that the eggs may be fertilized.
Edited to remove flame - please see the rules
I hate to say tough, but the rules are in place. You can try to change them, but someone will always be the loser in that. If 99 out of 100 want chickens, you will be forcing the 1 out, or forcing him to deal with something that he never wanted in...
You said it is a large pen and also described it as huge without saying exactly how big it is. In a seperate post, you said you would be triming over 50 beaks or so.
Using my advanced math skills, over 50 beaks is over 50 chickens . Is it possible that your idea of huge is a lot different...

Do you mean to say it's not necessary to hatch every egg that's ever laid?
I hope not, I have 3 broodys I am trying to convice to stop right now. I might just have to give them some, but I am already at a population of 53.
