    Need Opinions Please!

She is the highest in the flock and there is no sign of blood or raw skin.

    Need Opinions Please!

Hello! Today one of my easter eggers turned one and I went to bring her her birthday treats and I noticed that her beard is completely gone. She just has a bare chin/neck area. There are not any signs of dried blood so I am thinking that she might just be having a molt. I'm not sure if this is...

    Death in Chicken

The other day I went out to the coop and discovered that one or two of my hens had killed one of the others. The one they killed was a semi-new addition to the flock and I'd noticed that one bird was more violent than usual to her when trying to establish the pecking order. What I want to know...

    BSL Roo or Pullet?!

That's what I had heard, but I had heard something different too and that made me worried.

    BSL Roo or Pullet?!

Hi, I have a 2 1/2 week old BSL chick and there are mixed feelings about his/her gender. We're not allowed to have a rooster where I am, and it would be a bummer if it turns out to be one. What do you think?

    Feeding Spiders to Chicks

It took 2 vinyl records, a laptop, a heavy duty folder, a brother, a bed comforter, a lot of nerves, and over an hour of stressing and wishing it wouldn't escape and crawl up my arm. There was no way I was picking that up. The chicks sure did enjoy it. Chicken football

    Spiders!!!!!!!!

Quote: I am the same exact way!! I find them very interesting, but right now there is one 3 feet away from me and I am frozen on my bed home alone and have no way of killing it. I don't like to get close enough to kill them

    Feeding Spiders to Chicks

...It's body is about the size of a kidney bean. I have some 4 day old chicks in the brooder downstairs and am wondering if I could feed it to them. I know older chickens eat them, but I was wondering about young chicks. I would prefer to not have to squish the thing and hear it crunch. *shudders*

    Breed?

Quote: Ditto, rooster looks like a Black Copper Maran! If he isn't, than he's a mix of some sort. The chick is a partridge silkie I agree. I agree too

    McMurray Rooster???

He's either a phoenix or an EE, but with the lack of the really nice phoenix tail, I'm leaning more toward the EE.

Easter Egger - Hen or Roo?

Quote: Hello, I commented earlier saying that your bird is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I'm getting an EE this spring and was wondering if you had any pictures of her when she was a chick so that I have some idea about what coloring I am looking for.

    Hey Maina's! WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!

Thanks! Sorry about your rooster. Here, we are allowed only 6 hens. No roosters and no more or less than 6.

    Am I weird?

My best friend shovels her run because, unless she does, the chickens refuse to come out!
