can you all go look at my Absolutely scared... injured duckling thread in the emergency section? I am very aware that this is against the rules but I REALLY need the help..
Please help me out here. I apologise to the moderators for breaking the rules.
So I have a duckling with a broken foot. I bandaged his foot into place because it was bent, the really scary part is, he keeps chewing on his broken foot. I conducted some "tests" and he can't feel anything below the break point, the foot past the break is slightly more red than the healthy...
240 eggs? Either you are throwing away LIVE embryos or your eggs aren't fertile or you have severely messed up your incubator. You do know you need a rooster to fertilize eggs before they can hatch? Correct?
Do you mean slightly darker than normal? If you are far along in the incubation process this means the chick has pipped internally or is positioning itself to pip internally.
Hello and welcome to my BYC page. Here I am posting my experiments and projects in the making.
My very first project
Currently Unnamed
This project started when I was stupid about chickens, and had no Idea what I was doing. Two of our RIR's had gone broody simultaneously. they had a horrid...
I have an OEG Bantam who was head of the flock for years, he would chase guineafowl, my LF Roo's, and pretty much anything that would stand between him and flock domination. He is very small, 1 or 2 pounds only. He is really old now, and gets pushed around by the other roo's.
I honestly think...
I have a bunch of what I presume to be brahma mutt chicks but they lack leg feathering. I have about 10 brahmas and 5 Barred rocks that could be the parents. All the chicks also have single combs, and going by comb genetics, all of them should have peacombs are at least 50% should have them...
Sorry I should have clarified, only one of the parents of this chick is a silky mutt. The other is a leghorn/rir cross which has no silky gene in it whatsoever.
I have a chick with normal feathering throughout but silkied feathers on its tail. I am waiting for further feather development so I can see if there is more silkied areas on this chick. Heres a bit of backstory:
So a few years ago, I bought a bunch of mutt chicks off of a feed store that were...
So, some of you may have read an earlier thread about a guinea egg incubated by the sun. I found an egg outside that was incubated by the sun and I took it in. Today I noticed feathers appearing in the egg, like he was drying them inside the egg and blood vessels disappearing. He had internally...
I think pride parades are particularly stupid, I don't have any pride for being straight, nor do I for being white, having unclipped toenails, a goofy face or buck teeth. The way you were born isn't anything to be proud of, if you wish to abolish hate I think imposing your "pride" will do the...
