My cochin hen had a powdery yellow substance coming from her ear. I got it cleaned but it is returning. The outside get hard but the inside is soft, not runny. Is it an ear infection and what do I do. I love this little hen.
It has been hot here in NH. Feed the broilers Saturday night. All were well Sunday morning. Came home and 30 out of 38 were bed. Not a mark on them. Laying together. Lost another on today. They have plenty of shade. One added point was when it was really hot Thursday, one of them was wheezy but...
My silkie is sitting on a clutch of eggs that should hatch out over the weekend. What are the other hens going to do. I am afraid that the other hens are going to hurt the babies...Should I take her babies away from her?
We did end up helping and I am glad to say that Jessie and Big Bird are doing GREAT. Three more should hatch today (I hope) but we will leave them alone. My mare is ready to pop any minute. Thanks everyone for your awesome support:P
Day 21 and was was pipping when I left for work 8 hours later not much progress. Another one has been chirping away in it's shell, NO hole. Read chicken for dumbies and removed some shell but only their little beaks are exposed from the membrane..what do we do. We don't want to lose them...
