Thank you for your help, but unfortunately the chick passed away in my hands a couple of hours ago. It wouldn't eat or drink and got very weak so I just cuddled the little baby. He/she didn't have any other symptoms, no pasty butt, naval was closed. I did notice that right before it passed its...
The crop is almost always empty. I got a good brand chick food without antibiotics. So I would hope the food is well balanced. I'll make some hard boiled eggs later today and give that to them as a treat to see if that will help. The chick is very lethargic all it wants to do is sit under the...
So I had 8 chicks born between 4 /14-4/16. I lost one 3 days ago and there is still one that I'm very concerned about. Like the one I lost 3 days ago this one is extremely tiny. Like half the size of the other chicks including one born after it. Its like it hasn't grown at all since it hatched...
I have one that will stay on. I foster neonatal kittens so I always have heating pads that don't have the 2 hour shut off on them :) All my little chicklets are laying on the pad now with a cloth cover over it so its not to hot for them.
I unfortunately don't have any wire to put it on :( All I can do is put it under the pee pee pad I have on the bottom of my brood box. I only have the heat source on one side of the brood box so they can get away from it when ever they want. My lamp wasn't that close and I had a thermometer in...
My heating lamp just went out and my little chicks are only 2 days old! Can I use a heating pad under the brood box to keep them warm? Will that be enough till I can get another bulb tomorrow?
I woke up to this little one that hatched a day early! Lol I was checking for pipping and got quite the surprise! The egg next to it has pipped too!
They are part of my Easter Hatch-a-long clutch!
It's never gotten that high. The highest it's been is 102. It will get that high for a few mins and then drop back down. I'm just perfection and want to make sure my little egglets have the best chance of survival.
Does anyone have a temp and humidity sensor that records your data and send it to an app? If you do, do you think its worth it? Which one do you have? I would really like one that can give me warnings too if my incubator gets to hot or cold. I have found a couple on Amazon but the price is a...
He or she is here! I didn't have to assise ether! It went from not doing anything to hatch to hatched in about 10 mins! It actually hatched about 4 mins before another! Thank you so much everyone! Here is a picture of the one I was worried about right after it hatched and a picture of it...
He/she is in the possession it was in this morning. No scooching around to zip, just sitting there breathing and chepping. I took this pic a couple of hours ago and it hasn't changed at all.
I have a chick that piped over 12 hours ago which I know isnt that long but he/she seems to have stalled out. It had a big slit in the membrain and I was able to see in there that his/her inner membrane is starting to shrinkwrap. He/she is still moving around but making no attempt to hatch. I...
I have 2 so far! One was born at 12:06 am(EST) on day 21 and the other just a few mins ago at 2:46 am (EST)! They are Blue Andalusian and the first born is yellow so I'm assuming it should be a speckled and the 2nd is gray so assuming again that it will be a blue! I'll post pictures in the...
3 out of my 16 remaining eggs have piped! They aren't due till tomorrow (July 1st) so they are a tiny bit early but so far so good! Fingers crossed that everything works out and we have a bunch of tiny chicklets running around in a day or so!
The humidity in my area is petty high it in the 80% range, but I have central AC so that lowers the humidity in the house. :( I will try the humidifier out!
