I have a a broody hen whose eggs were a bust so I went out today and got her six bantam chicks to mother. She took to the babies wonderfully. I am so proud of her. While there, I saw the guinea keets. Would she mother them also? Would ten more be too many? It sure would make things easier...
Yeah, I wish I could but they already think I am nuts. Imagine if I started taking their breakfast away from them. I don't think that would go over too well.
I am so bummed tonight. Our anniversary is tomorrow and my husband surprised me tonight with a new brinsea incubator and I have no eggs saved to try it out. We have used the foam incubators a couple of times now with no luck. Last weekend we were due to hatch 3 doz of our eggs. Only one made...
I don't have any recipes for you, just some words of advice. My husband just finished his chemo and it is amazing how his sense of taste changed. He craved carbs. Casseroles with rice or potato. Sometimes he would just want plain mashed potatos. My advice is to ask him what things he...
I'm sure it was a fox because I saw her. She was stalking one of our other hens. When it saw me, she just ran up our driveway and into the woods. Has anyone ever tried stitching up a tear? I think I am going to have to try it because it is bigger than I first thought and sliced right across...
OK everyone, I need some help. We had a fox attack this afternoon. We have found two dead hens (I don't know why the fox didn't take them) so far. The others scattered or were killed too. We have had one roo return and then three young hens show up. Then their mother hen came back limping...
My new favorite for keeping my kids quiet during church is playfoam. I have ordered mine through Amazon. It is tiny foam beads that stick together and kids can use it like clay. The best part is that it doesn't stick to anything but itself. I love it. Here is a link. Hope it works...
...seconds later, out popped an egg!
Bob was overcome with emotion as he experienced motherhood. He soon laid another egg -- his joy was overwhelming.
As he was about to lay his third egg, he felt a smack on the back of his head, and heard his wife yell......
BOB, wake up. You sh*t the bed!'
Baby finally arrived on Saturday, Sept 5 at 7:02pm. She was 7lbs 15 oz and 21" long. Her big sisters were thrilled to see her and love her to pieces. Here are a couple of my favorite pictures.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I went in again on Sat morning for a non-stress test and they decided to try to induce me again. It worked well this time. They broke my water at 5:40pm at 5cm and I had the baby at 7:02pm. Fast and furious.
She had lots of peeling skin and had...
OK, so here's the deal. I was due on Aug 28 with DD #3. Unfortuntely, this one really has a mind of her own. Any tips on how to get labor started? I feel like I have tried it all. Castor oil, eggplant, chinese food, mexican food, walking, they even tried to induce me yesterday. No luck...
Thanks everyone.
These are just great. I like most of them, but some end in A and others remind me of people or kids and you know how that is. Some of my favorites are
still....
Isabel
Abigail (I do think it is pretty common though, and don't like that.)
Naomi
and now......
Caroline...
Wow, I go to bed for a few hours and look how many you all came up with. I knew you guys were good, but this is awsome. So many names I hadn't thought of. Many of the names I do like alot, but hubby won't agree with a name ending in "a".
I will be sure to go over these with hubby tonight...
I have been reading MysticScorpio82's post asking for baby name help and I just have to copy her. Sorry. There are so many awsome names there.
I kind of wish I was having a boy because we hae had a boy name picked out since daughter #1 was born. I guess I'm just not supposed to have an...
