Thanks, I will wait and see and update with photos so it can help others looking for answers.
I did post for more opinions in my local chicken facebook group and someone did offer their freezer camp, if needed. One day I will move to a neighborhood where it doesn't matter if I have roosters.
So I got a mixed flock from ace hardware a few weeks ago. These are hatchery chicks that are sexed with a 90% success rate. However, one of the "ameraucana" (easter egger) chicks is making me think it may be a rooster. I realize it is a bit early and it is a wait and see thing, but I thought I...
OK, I bought six chicks that were supposedly "straight run" a couple of months ago. There were five that were supposed to be "easter eggers" that are approximately 13 weeks now. I think 4 of them are roosters based on the body shape, comb size/color and all the chest bumping going on. I am...
I got this one in mid April when it was supposedly 2 months old. So it is about four to five months now. I am needing to take all my roosters to a friend today so I am trying to make a determination. I am thinking this one is a rooster based on wattles and comb size and the upright posture...
This is when I first got him on or around April 16. He was two months she said then. I posted these pictures on one of the silkie threads and was told a rooster already.
I am pretty sure that one is a rooster as well as I had asked on one of the silkie threads when I first got him (I actually just watched a video tutorial and I think all six of my "straight run" are roosters based on tail shape and combs.
A month or so ago I bought some chicks that were "straight run" (she said she couldn't tell what they were). Supposedly five are easter eggers and one is def a silkie (and I am pretty sure that is a roo). I am beginning to think that the five EE's are also all roosters. Those will be about 8...
Got this silkie today at a special event at our local feed/seed store. The lady said it was about two months old and was selling the chicks as "straight run" (I also got five EEs in the background that I think are only a few weeks old, she said they were hatched at easter time, so I will have...
We try to do "breakfast for dinner" once a week now. We are making a blueberry french toast casserole: http://southernfood.about.com/od/frenchtoastrecipes/r/blbb131.htm
My aunt made it over Christmas and it was tasty. We have some blueberries frozen from last summer so it works out really well.
She has laid an egg every day for the past three days (but not in the nest box, just in the coop the little weirdo). So if she is as old as she looks she is an awesome layer!
So glad I took a chance on this pretty little mutt.
The person I bought her from said her previous owners said she laid "blue" eggs. It is a green/blue color but is different from my other EE egg (who also laid yesterday, and the day before that and no one else can be laying that color). I have seen some sources (wikipedia mostly) that say that...

Ah, I see that is true. Supposedly her original owners said she laid blue eggs, which made me think EE (the anconas and most breeds that might have given her that v comb lay white eggs).
It is definitely very likely that she is going through the last stages of a molt as one of my birds is still finishing up hers so it is that time of year here. She also may have been in crowded conditions before (not sure, it sounds like she came from a farm where the owners were letting birds...
