Thanks everyone.
Tonight we had a very close call with both injured birds. They spent the day in their new sectioned off coop which they share with my big boy BO, Archie. He has to be kept away from the other birds until they are bigger because he does not play well with others. He has one...

Sorry I have not updated in a while. Things have been a bit crazy here lately.
Today the injured chicks went to live outside in their own pen. They will be reintroduced to the flock as soon as the injured roo (I still think it is a roo) grows some feathers on his head.
I finally got my...

I don't even want to imagine the smell you had to deal with. My daughter threw up on a mattress when she was little and it took forever to get the smell out of the house.
As far as my sanity....I think I lost it years ago. I have 2 teenage daughters. My oddball...

My daughter's last day of school is tomorrow so hopefully she will have...

Both of the injured chicks are doing well. I finally moved my daughter out of her room and covered everything with old sheets so they can run around and regain their strength. They will be reintroduced to the flock soon.
They have discovered a new fun time game to...

Padlock in a sock....oh wait...that's not what you meant. I miss the days when my biggest chicken concern was poop on my back. For some reason this years chicks have all turned into a spoiled bunch of psychotic monsters. On a positive note...I no longer need to go to the doctor to...

If they were not full of antibiotics, they would have been part of a stew today. They have learned a new trick. It is called "Let's see if we can land on the human's face when she brings food". They are pretty good at it.

I just went in to get a full view of the damage. Satin sheets, cable box, curtains, inside the trash can, the wall, the clothes in my DD's closet (she left it open), the stereo, under the bed, shoes, the desk, the phone, and the carpet have all been "tagged". Did I mention someone fed...

If I answered that question in the affirmative, that would make me as crazy as you are right?
Glad your little one is better. Only thing I know how to do is get chickie poo stains out of the inside of my bra, does that count?

Ok, this bird is definately a fighter. Today was day 2 on antibiotics. The clicking and wheezing sound is gone. In fact, my other chick that is almost fully recovered from a scalping by the same chicks that hurt this one broke out of her enclosure (again) and somehow released this one...

I went through a horrible respitory illness with my chicks. Polyvisol vitamins worked well along with antibiotics, probiotics and apple cider vinegar. I thought we would lose the chick, but amazingly she pulled through.
I put the vitamins right down her beak vs the water. It worked...
We have had a bit of a setback with the chick. He definately has something respiratory going on. I suspect he may have inhaled some water the other day. I am thinking he may be developing aspiration pneumonia. At this time he is on antibiotics. His appetite is still great and he is very active...
I noticed a little rattle when the chick was breathing this evening. I'm not sure if it was because he had just gobbled down some warm grits (I'm sneaking some extra water to him) or if there is something else going on. I will check him in the morning and start antibiotics if necessary.
I took...
The little monster is freaking amazing! The "tick" and balance issues I thought would be permanent are all gone as of today. I think he is enjoying his people time and the fact that he doesn't have to compete with the rest of the chicks for food. I even think he is getting used to the AC as it...
Today the little monster is doing well. He is starting to get loud! I think he spent most of the day trilling away. He has also learned to call us when his dish is empty. Bathtime had to be postponed due to severe thunderstorms.
