.My first rooster, a barred rock I picked up as a "mistake" as part of 4 pullets that I purchased in early December '09.. I have three hens previously almost a year old, and I knew I would have to put one down shortly due to serious...
...it could be set on wheels quite easily if someone had a more portable setup in mind.
The ole disabled lady finally finished between the back from he** and the daily torrential thunder storms and the 110 heat index. The cattle feeder is the main unit you see...the two sides, the metal roof...
Kitty's Chicken Adventures......
It all started with the purchase of a small coop to rehab an injured homing pidgeon, which was successfully done, only he didn't go back to his family in Miami, he found a new mate and has started a new clan up here.
About a year later...the day before...
I used the panels on the top as well to make everything predatorproof and wrapped the the bottom half with hardware cloth, the upper half and roof with chicken wire and laid a skirt around the perimeter of galvinized garden wire that I just slid underneath. It has worked out well. When I got...

Hi, and thanks! it works out well here.
Those are those SunTuf Roofing panels. You can get them at Home Depot and they come in different colors as well as clear and a shaded grey and you can cut them to fit. Very easy to manage as I have a really bad back! and they store easy , too...
Boy,do I know what you mean! It been a soaker of a week! This is what I have done for this kind of weather. I call them my "storm shutters". You can't really see it, but there is about an 8" span left open (covered with Hardware cloth) at the top covered by the overhang, and gaps on the...
Thanks, guys.
Here's mine, although I have my "storm windows' on in the first pic. It is a convertedcattle feeder. I also had to get a few more chickens (shockeroo???), so there is another 6' x 6' run section off the back, so there's 6' x 18' altogether now.. Under the tarp is chain link...

I noticed someone else here mentioned their chicken had just...
Thank you all. I have been thinking of all the angles as well. This area has a ton a black widows naturally occuring, we find them all the time in the gate latches at the farm I work at. So that is a distinct possibility, as well as the toxic plant scenario. But in the big picture, I guess I...
Thank you...
I have no idea. He was on the floor in the corner of the coop with eyes closed and feet tucked under him as if he just layed down and went to sleep. I knew something was up when there was no morning crowing. The only thing I did notice was that he did seem a little quieter, but...

Here is Otis' last day Sunday, with his girls. I...
Now photobucket wants a a password, too! You must have rearranged some of your photos and that is why they aren't showing up. You can try and repost the pics if you are done rearranging or give up the password!
Can't wait to see the progress up there
