    I use Sevin dust (10%) and dust them liberally around the vent, under the wings and around the neck. Northern fowl mites will always reinfest your birds so you typically need to dust at least twice a year. Spring and Fall are the two worst times for them.

    It sounds like it is likely one of the many different respiratory complexes that can infect poultry. Unfortunately, the majority are not succeptible to antibiotics as they are either viral or a mycoplasma. Very few antibiotics actually have much effect on respiratory problems.

    Baytril can work very quickly when used against susceptible pathogens. It also has some side effects that must be watched and can be very debillitating to a dehydrated animal. Be sure it is prescribed by a vet for your specific problem or the cure can be worse the the disease.
