    Citrus a no-no?

My little vultures love pretty much everything I throw out to them....a red pepper make them absolutely bonkers the other day... Anywho, have some grapefruit rinds here from breakfast, but thought I read somewhere that citrus was no good for chickies? Is this true? Thanks! ~Bridget

    Blue legged birdy?

One of my OEG hens has BLUE legs....everyone else has gold (see photo) Why is that? Or do they just sometimes have different colored legs? My Splash Andalusian also has blue legs, but his breed description says he should.

    Three roos and a hen???

LOL not that these are even close to all of my birdies! Some of them are becoming very distinct as far as their sex traits, others not as much. I THINK in this photo I have 2 OEG roos, 1 Andalusian roo and 1 OEG hen....what do you guys think?? ~Bridget

Any way to keep chickens out of the flower bed?

My husband (yes HE) is having a coronary b/c the chickens are in the flower bed where we've been trying to grow ivy and morning glories up a trellis. Anyway short of wrapping the whole thing in chicken wire to keep them out of there? Thanks! ~Bridget

    Limping chicken :(

*sobs* My little Andalusian roo is limping. He and my favorite OEG roo were running away from the dog (dog wasn't actually DOING anything, just standing there w/ me) and now he's all limpy. He's getting around quite well (though he has an odd 'gait' to him) eating, drinking, etc and REALLY...

    Chicken colors?

So just a sheer curiousity question....can you "predict" chicken colors??? We have horses, and so I know what my "possibilities" are, say when I breed a bay horse to a chestnut, palomino, black, etc.... Not that I "intend" to be breeding, but I dont want to get rid of all my Roos, and they'll...

    How soon can you sex???

So I have all these OEG (and one Andalusian...LOL) and am wondering how soon I will know when some are roos and some are hens??? We could only get a straight run, so I'm sure we'll have some of both, and I'm sure I'll have to find new homes for some of the roos They are about a week old, and...

I am so new to this...I had baby chicks a few summers ago w/ my banties....but that was momma and babies, not just babies in a brooder. Anyone else have chicks that just SPRAWL to sleep??? I have to go in and take a picture in the morning....they just lay all stretched out all over each other...

    Hi....new here!

Hi all!! New to this forum and excited to meet some more chickie lovers My name is Bridget, I grew up a TOTAL city kid, but wanting to do the "horse" thing, and then being in 4-H, it was inevitable that other 'farm critters' would eventually grab hold of me! When we bought this farm, I got...
