Happy to be back after a long break. I had to sell my beloved flocks 7-8 years ago and am starting a new flock again. I am starting off with a beginning flock of six Swedish Flower chicks.
We also got a bunch of hatchery chicks to start a rainbow selection for the farmers markets in the...
My kids found somepipping pigeon eggs in a nest up in the barn loft. We watched for an hour and the mom did not come back to the nest. I finally went up and grabbed them as my kids begged for me to save them. (They understand pipping, zipping and all that) One is pipped and appears to have...
I have 4 chicks for sale hatched 4/8. These are possible lav/splits. I have decided not to pursue this project right now. Please email me if interested.
Several folks have asked what a brabanter chick looks like. Here is one little munchkin from today. She was falling asleep whist being photographed. Her photomate is a bluish EE hatched here on the farm this week as well.
I'll post a picture in a few weeks to show their crest. It is...
I am very excited.
We have eggs from Shaffer that seem to be contemplating coming out of their shell. I am so happy because the golden cuckoos I incubated along with Harry's eggs are not hatching. I thought perhaps something had spiked or messed up without my realizing it as the cuckoos are...
I wanted to share a very positive experience with Meyer I had this week. This was my first time with them. My order was shipped on tme. They did call to say a few types were not hatching well and would run short and they would be shipped out next week.
They were shipped on Tuesday and we...
I cannot tell the difference. They hatched on Monday and arrived this morning. Does anyone have any clues what I might look for to distinguish them?
Thanks

Hi, there is so much confusion and so many questions about EEs etc. Can this be a sticky in the breeds forum? Everyday there are questions about this.

Hi folks.
I have a chance to buy an old cabinet incubator cheaply. (under 100) It 'works' according to the owner. Can components be purchased to upgrade this? Like the turners and and electric thermostat, etc, if it needs it?
Should I take the drive and get it and try to fiddle with it...
Hmmm, I can't seem to find the first thread I posted. Mods if this is a dupe, please get rid of one.
Does anyone have any experience with Dickey Cabinet Incubators?
Thank you.
My pinto just got her hind leg stuck in one of the standing feeders. It was really awful to watch as she thrashed to get free. I thought for sure her leg was going to snap.
She initially didn't move, and wouldn't put weight on it, and I was sure she had broken it. But she was able to get to...
I have ordered some hatchery chicks (sexed pullets) for some of my customers, since I sold out of my own stock. They are arriving April 1st or 2nd.
$5 each, or 5 for $20
This is a nice assortment that will lay a rainbow of eggs for you.
Email to place an order.
I also will have specialty...
I am not a silkie person, I bought some eggs last year for my kids. The eggs were lost in shipping and we ended up with one lonely silkie out of 22 eggs. We thought Solo was a girl,
until this....
Can you critique this fellow for me? I think he is just stunning, of course I do not...
These very blue eggs will be ready for shipping on Saturday, April 4th.
Please email me. I don't always come on BYC, so email will ensure I get your order.

Please check out my BYC website.
Please email me, as I don't always stop by BYC.
Thank you very much!
This fellow is from Richard (Maransguy), hatched in mid december 08. He is technically a Copper Black but 4 months later there is no copper to be seen. Many of Richards eggs are very dark, and he is meticulous about breeding. So this fellow is a nice nice bird. He is going to auction...
