    Morning....I started eggs on a Wednesday afternoon and added more on Friday afternoon. What would be the best day of the week to take the eggs out of the turner? Is there a happy medium? Thursday is day 21 Thanks Tink

    Goat question

    We are getting ready to let our goat loose in the pasture.She has been in a pen with daily feedings of goats grains, hay and corn. The pasture is full of natural greens, grass and trees. Should we ease her into this or will she regulate herself? Thanks

    sick goat...help

    Our female goat has not felt well for 3 days. She is not eating or drinking. I gave her an antibiotic shot last night and worm med this morning. She will get up only when I pull her up. She sounds like she is burping.....lots of tummy sounds. Any ideas on what to do for her or what it may be...

    Hey.... I have a goat who is about 5 years old and she is having trouble standing. She will be fine and her legs seem to give out on her. She is peeing and pooing okay. Her personallity is a little off....not quite as onry. Any ideas? Tink

    baby question

    I have a chick the hatched out about 4.5 hours ago. It has what I think is its yolk sac still attached to it. There is a little blood also. What should I do? Leave it alone....cut it off? Wait til morning? Thanks for your help Tink

    Newby on Hatching Help:)

    Okay...Today is day 17....Been keeping the temp really steady at 98 but the humidity keeps dropping. Right now it is at 30. How should I keep it higher and what are the next steps I should do in the next 5 days? I have a "Still Air" incubator with an egg turner. Thanks for helping... I have 24...

    Only one baby

    We incubated some eggs and only one egg hatched.....poor baby. Do you think it will be okay or should I try to find it a buddy? Is there anyone close to upstate SC that has some babies? They are so darn cute!! Tink

    question about foot

    I have a two day old Bobwhite Quail that has a foot that is kinda curled up. I don't remember seeing it this way until today. Can I tape a piece of cardboard to it to straighten it out? Or is there something else I should do? Thanks Tink

    We came up with an idea today

    Our rooster spurs are about 1 1/2 long and he is hurting our hens. We thought we were going to cut them and chickened out!! Ha ha ha ha So instead we cut a piece of soft plastic tubing and put it on his spur and on the other side we put duct tape. It is a test to see what will happen. Tink

    I have a hen who has been sitting for the last two weeks. Next Wed...I think will be day 21. If the weater should stay cold...should I bring the babies in the house, or should I let Momma keep them warm? I am not sure how delicate they are when they are born ala natural!! Should I bring her...

    Picking on one hen

    My rooster is picking on one hen and not letting her back in the coop. He is also pecking her and pulling out mouthfulls of feathers. Why?? She is molting and looks pitiful. And it is cold here...soo she has no one to snuggle with.....Any suggestions? Tink

    I have read that cedar shavings are not good for babies....but is it okay for big girls? Cedar is so much easier to find than pine. Is it not healthy for them?????? Thanks Tink
