Has anyone else had the plastic bottom for their Chinese type incubators bust. I was going to try and patch it. And put in frame then spray foam around it. But not sure if that would bust it more. I found bottom online but it is UK only. Any Ideas or suggestions?
Or should I try building...

I bought 4 white quail from the feed store 3 wks ago. I'm assuming they are A&M. I noticed 2 crowing with in the first week. Now today one (the main crower) has bloody beak and two of the other three are wounded. One has lost an eye. The fourth shys away from it. Could it be another male or a...
I have built a few homemade incubators before and always used bulbs for heat. My question is has anyone tried using one of these type heating elements.
Had a friend give me some quail eggs for my son and I to try and hatch. He may be more excited than I am. Been interested in them a while. How much different is the incubation than chicken. I usually do dry incubation with chicken.

I hatched these two from eggs I bought from a farm. I tried wing sexing after hatch but wanted more guesses. The one with gold actually has some feathering on feet.
Here is my (well my moms) chicken tractor I built using 5 pallets 8 2x4 12' little wire. Hardware and elbow grease.
I didn't even cut the tall boards on front. They are pallet width.

Fireball was hatched from fresh eggs I'd gotten from friend. Any idea the breed or breeds he is. I thought Buff at first but he is such a bright
We hatched him in homemade bator 5-17-13
I'm thinking about building a chicken tractor I can put chicks in when they are too big for brooder yet to small to be put in with the flock. Had a few killed last year by older chickens that broke my heart.
I also want to use it for breeding certain chichens at other times too.
Which is better horizontal or vertical?

I've been clearing some shrub and smaller trees in area to build my coop and run. Problem is area is fully infested with redbugs. I was wantibg to leave the old leaf litter for my chickens to dig through but with all the redbugs not sure now. Should I burn it put out sevens dust or another...
Couple days ago my son came and told me chicks were making a weird sound. I walked out and heard one of my five week old roos trying to crow. He is trying his best lol
