Hi,
My wife and I are looking for around a dozen Black Copper Marans and/or Cuckoo Maran "hen" chicks. Preferably in Wisconsin, or willing to ship.
Let me know what you have and prices. Thank you!
Hi all
We have a very broody hen, and she just successfully sat on and hatched out 5 chicks. We pulled the chicks, as we sell them locally. How often WOULD she sit on a new batch of fertile eggs to hatch out for us? Should we give her a week off at a time, or ????
Any help would be great...
Hi all. I have a Brinsea Eco 20 with auto turn cradle. I used it last 3 years ago to hatch out 3 Emu's. Anyway, just got it out today, as my kids want to hatch out some chicken eggs. I figred I'd get it down from the attic, cleaned up and turned on to make sure ALL was working. Everything...
Hi, my Son's egg selling business has really taken off. We have 10 Red Sex a link chickens that lay really well, but can't keep up for the demand for my son's eggs.
So I am looking for either chicks OR hatching eggs for Red Sex a Link chickens, or another chicken that is friendly, and will...
I have 5 week old Silver Laced Wyandotte's and am just wondering if there is a good way to tell the difference between the male and females? On my buff orpingtons, it's easy as the roosters developed much larger combs early on...would that be the same in the wyandotte's???
Thanks for any help...
Hey all, ok, this idea just popped into my head while browsing through the Emu threads again...not sure why I never thought of it before.
Anyway, since there are now maybe 8-10 or even more of us raising Emu and/or hatching them.....why don't we cut out the middle man and ship/share eggs...
So question for you all....what are you all feeding your Emu's as their staple diet? I start mine out on regular chick starter, and then switch them over to a feed that I have my local feed mill grind up and mix for me. I gave them the ingredients and dietary info off the back of a bag of...
Not sure if this is the right place for this or not...I JUST started setting up my BYC member page....and I am trying to insert photos from my uploads..and I click on the image link..and copy and paste it into the image/edit box, and then click submit, or whatever it says..and it just shows me a...
Hi all
I am going to build a small Sportsman style cabinet bator to incubate 4 or 5 Emu eggs...and with Emu eggs they need to be rolled 3 times a day, rather than just being turned......anyway..does anyone know of a DIY roller type turner on the forums here, or a roller type turner that is...
Hi all
Got a quick question. We have our Bantam Ameraucana's hatch out on May 1st. so they are about 3.5 months old.
We have 2 females and 1 male...I am just wondering...WHEN can I expect them to start laying eggs? I haven't seen any yet.
Thanks
Dan
Hi all,
I am posting for my two oldest sons that are in 4H, and are desperate to get some new birds. My oldest son raises Bantam Cochin Frizzles...and my second son raises Guinea fowl...they worked very hard this spring and hatched out all their own chicks, they spend their allowance money on...
Hi all, not sure if this is the correct place for this message or not.
Anyway...I have a large area fenced in with 6 ft high fencing for the Emu's that we raise...I also have 4 Bantam Ameraucana's that are currently in one of our quail cages, and they are now fully grown and I feel this cage is...
I am selling my large cabinet style incubator. I have used it to successfully hatch everything from quail eggs on up to Emu's. I added the front viewing window to this unit. It comes with the humidity control setup, a wetbulb thermometer, autoturn cradle and trays, and has electronic...
Hi all
I am looking to add a SMALL flock of Guinea's to my Emu and Chicken pen. Most places have large minimum orders....I am just looking to buy 5-10 keets, that can be shipped to me.
Let me know if you have any.
Thanks
Dan
Well, went out today and let all the "emu kids" out in the yard to play...and it seems that Bert has developed Splay Leg? Poor guy...I taped his legs for the day and kept him out with the others in hopes that it may help it....but at the leg joints the bend inwards, and then the legs bend out...
Well, yesterday my second set of Emu eggs started to hatch....Oscar hatched yesterday at 9am....he/she is doing well and will come out of the incubator today and into the brooder with Bert and Ernie. I'll post photos soon.
As you probably guessed, my children get to name the birds, and we...
Video of my 1 week old Emu's running around our living room. Sorry it was night time, and so the video is dark. You can hear my dog going crazy too. at about 2:20 you can hear my disgust as Bert takes a poop on our carpet!
