    What size for nesting boxes ?

    What size in general do you give for nesting ? 10"X 12" or something like that ? Can you stack them like two high? I have 7 older hens (non laying now) I have 10 new chicks and @ some point they will all be together.. Will six nesting boxes be enough ?

    New chicks Oldder hens / Rooster

    Hello I have 1 rooster.. 6 hens in a large coop /run. I have 7 young (Feb. born) hens in a smaller coop/run next to the other coop/run They are separated by fencing.. can see each other.     Tractor Supply chicks???

    Coop finally done! Many ideals from this site!

    This is what my six chickens had to live in. They weren't that big when I converted the rabbit hutch into a coop. This is how there new coop and run look now! They can't wait to use it! This is were my build is located...

    To put a roof over the nesting boxes or not?

    I have 5 chicken an one rooster. They seem to use only two nest boxes. I'm building a bigger and insulated coop. I have built three nests that will be out in the open compared to what they are used to. Should I put a roof over the nests , or will this promote roosting on it? Thanks Sean

    Double yolkes!

    Hello My first egg was a double yolk. Since then I have been getting one egg a day, Same looking egg etc. I am now seeing like two a day ..same egg etc. Now another double yolk with two of the same eggs. Question : Do some chicken just lay double yolkes, or how common are they? Sean
