Greenhouse coverings, I need help
I have decided to start gardening again and am building raised beds to keep the ducks out :) I found a metal hoop greenhouse out in a junk pile!! It's 12' wide at the base and I'll probably do 20' long for now. But I don't know what to cover it with. I've researched a lot but still can't decide... -
Female leave nest before all eggs are hatched

Dark Skin Color on birds
I'm trying to find some Muscovies. I want some for us, but will sell (locally) whatever grown hatchlings we don't eat. I'm assuming darker birds will have darker skin (like with other birds). Do buyers care? Do any of you have problems selling darker skinned birds over white ones?- jellybean

Another muscovy question.... Skin color???
Does color matter for a meat bird? I know a lot of people like a white carcass. I want Muscovies, and will sell whatever birds we don't eat. So should I get white birds? Or do people buying Muscovies really care about color of skin? I'm assuming here that a brown/ dark colored bird will have... -
Can you shoot ducks? Or best to cut off head?
Do any of you shoot your birds when you're ready to process them? If so, do you then hang them to bleed out? I need to process my first ducks, and have read up on it but still not sure of the best way to actually kill them. Meaning, most humane (quick also) and also easiest on me! Duck egg hatching problem?- please read! PICS

Broody goose, no eggs hatched. Help!
I have a broody goose and duck. Two baby geese were killed soon after hatching by the other broody goose (she's now banned from the pen). A rotten egg broke and killed the rest of the eggs right before hatching. I've always had ducks that would remove bad eggs themselves, so I didn't candle them... -

My Africans are wimps
