During the last three weeks I've hatched out sixty new babies, with more due this weekend, then next weekend, and more the weekend after that. They are mostly Silkies, but I also have Buff Laced Polish and Mille Fleur d'Uccles. The picture of the three Silkies are the first ones I've ever had...
I have been watching for my 21 week old girls to start laying eggs. Hadn't checked the nesting boxes in about two days. Noticed one of the RIR wasn't out in the run with the others, so I looked in the nesting boxes, and there she was, giving me an egg.

In another post I mentioned that my broody Silkie had been pushing several eggs away, that I kept putting back under her. They were always cold, but I put them back anyway. The last time she did it I put them in the incubator. Several days later one of them hatched. Several days after that...

These are the results of a buff Silkie roo I got from BamaChicken last year, and a black Silkie hen I already had.
The blue is two days old and the black is one day old.
The two splash silkies we got from you are coming along just fine, however one of them is starting to look and sound like a roo.
Julie, are you still going to the Sunshine Classic, and are you going to be showing anything?
Charlie
The silkie roo that we recently got from BamaChicken is now worth even more than when we picked him up. Last night he ate one of DW diamond earrings! Anyone have any idea how long before it shows up?
