We had a hard time getting the 4 new hens introduced to an established flock of 13 hens & 1 Roo, so we have them separated in their coop by a fence. How long does it take for the other hens to accept them into their flock? And in regards to the established flock.... is it normal to have one hen...
I noticed one out of the 4 hens has bloody poop. Last night I started them on Vitamins & Electrolytes. They are acting normal though today, but this has me very concerned.
I've been reading about symptoms, and am hoping they aren't coming down with Coccidiosis. What type of meds do y'all...
I posted below earlier....and have been keeping an eye on all my younger hens, and noticed they all are not as active as normal, and seem to be extremely sleepy. They are all eating, drinking, cones are normal, etc. but their inactive behavior has me concerned.
I noticed one of the girls is...
Chubby Cheeks my EE is normally very active and vocal. I just checked on her, she's laying around and sleeping. When she stands up, she immediately closes her eyes and goes to sleep. Cone is it's normal color, crop looks fine, and so does her poop. Earlier this morning she was fine, eating and...
I have 3 EE's and 1 Cornish Hen almost 13 weeks old, and around a month ago, we tried to introduce them in with the already established Hens, and it was a disaster. The Older Hens literally tried to beat the heck out of them, while Red the Rooster played the protector and tried to keep the...
These 4 pullets and the Roo will be 6 weeks old in a few days. Do y'all still think the darker 2 are a Partridge Rock and possible Dark Cornish Cross? Also...was wondering since I have 5 RIR Roos, and 13 Pullets age's ranging from 12 to 14 weeks....how long should I wait to put these younger...
Should I think about separating the 5 Roo's with them being 10 & 12 weeks old? They were raised together but should I be concerned right now about them going after each other? I'm concerned about what's going to happen when the first one crows. Any and all suggestions are very much appreciated...
These first three pics are of Red! This one looks like a Roo to me.
This is Ethel. I'm not sure on this one!
This is Little Ricky.
This is Ricky.
And this is Miss Lucy...or is it? LOL
What do y'all think? Do I have 5 Roo's here? Boy....I hope not!
If y'all have pics of your Hens & Roos....Would someone post pics of them, please? As I said in another post, we believe we have 5 Roos, but it's not wrote in stone. No Crowing yet, so there's still hope we have a few Hens out of the bunch. I've read that some clues to determine if they're...
These 3 will also be 4 weeks old Thursday. Please tell me, they are Americanas. Also, their little legs are gray...in the pics they look green. Pictures enclosed
These little ones will be 4 weeks old Thursday, and every picture I have looked at online of Barred Rock Chicks look nothing like these two. What do y'all think? Pictures included.
We need help figuring out what we have here....I think these are Roo's..... what do y'all think?
Please bare with me.....I'm new at uploading pics...and hopefully I did it right.
Thanks,

For starters...... Our first 12 babies just turned 6 weeks old today. 11 Gold Sex Links, and 1 RIR. We're not sure if "Red" is a Pullet or a Roo. Red has a very prominent Cone and huge waddles. We also have 4 RIR's & 2 Gold Sex Links that just turned 4 weeks old today. All named for the...
