Help with skunk in trap!
My DN caught a skunk in his trap. He tried to put a trap over it but it sprayed and chased him off, LOL. How do you handle a skunk in a trap? He says he can't get close enought to it to shoot it. We live in a neighborhood.- Cordell

Night time food and water
I have begun locking my two young pekin ducks in a large dog kennel at night. Do they need food and water in there? I lock them in at dusk and let them out about 6:30 am. -
Goslings arrived!
My Sebastopols and Lavender Ice gosling pairs arrived today from Holderreads. They were alert and active. I think I am really going to enjoy geese! Sorry for the small picture I had to use my phone. DH is out of town with the real camera. I think I will name the white Sebastopols "Ribbons"... -
What color of calls do you think?
I bought some snowy call duck hatching eggs off of ebay. Here they are at 6 weeks old. I guess you could call them pet quality calls but I am fairly certain they are not snowy. I am thinking maybe greys what do you think? They have bright blue/turquiose/purple patch on their wings that you can't... -
Help feeding small call duckling!

Keeping pairs of geese.
I am trying to figure out what breed of goslings to order. If I got a pair of Embden and a pair of Buff geese would the ganders fight? I have 2 acres and was planning on sectioning off a horse stall in the barn for their night quarters. I am looking for pets who will also do some sentry duty... -
Duckling in a bottle!
First an explaination. The aquarium is too small for a milk jug so I decided to cut a head size hole in a water bottle for my three call ducks to drink out of. It seemed to work just fine until I turned my back for a second! -
When to offer food and water?
When do you offer food and water to a new duckling? My husband says he read to wait 12 hours. I thinking it's probably OK to wait 12 hours due to the yoke. But can you go ahead and offer under supervision when they are dry and up and about in the brooder? Thanks so much! -

We started incubating 6 call duck eggs on 12-23. One never developed the other 5 veined. Out of those there are 2 that have dark spots about half the size of a dime that seems to be staying in the same spot the last couple of times we candled and the air sack looks large and not shaped right... -

Need help with Lyons TX-7 automatic turner.

Seeing blood veins in eggs!
We put the six call duck eggs in the incubator in the afternoon on 12-23. We are seeing veins in 3 of the eggs! I know we still have a long way to go but I am eggcited to see this much at least! -
Record for most Racoons caught in one place!
I think my husband holds the record for most racoons caught in one location. Now keep in mind this is at his mother's house in the city limits of Fort Worth, Texas. Size of call duck eggs!
Could someone tell me the size of call duck egg compared to chicken egg! My egg turned in incubator is too small for medium chicken egg. I bet I had bought a smaller one for parrot eggs. I will have to order a bigger size if the duck eggs are as big as chicken egg. Thanks so much! -
