Fingers Crossed for high fertility!
There was quite a bit of duck porn in the last few weeks.....
UPDATE!
20 Feb,
We candled the eggs, 20 out of 24 fertile and viable.
20 runners on the way!
All during the first 18 days of incubation in a Hovabator fan incubator the humidity and temperature was reasonably stable. Now I found after putting eggs on lockdown the temp has dropped quite a bit. It was dead on 99.5 only went up and down by a few tenths of a deg. The humidity was around...
8 fertile eggs. Moms are a variety of breeds from last years hatch (black sexlink, a heavy red variety, RIR X Columbian, Barred rock). Dad looks like this:

The father would be this guy:
Bought him...

I only have three eggs to start with, but would like to get started as soon as possible. The incubator is stable at 99.5 (+ - 3 deg), humidity is at 70%. My chickens are giving me 3-4 eggs a day, and would like to add another 4 - 8 or so eggs. Can I add 4 a day, until I have enough? There...
What exactly does this mean?? In reference to incubation / brooding?
Picking up our first Incubator today. Trying to learn as much as possible.

My Eastern Wild turkey has gradually gotten puffier in the face. I thought it was a normal thing (not having raised one before) but the puffyness has gotten worse and now is closing one of its eyes. She is still eating drinking etc, but I am worried that something serious is wrong. I dont want...
