Hi so I posted about Ruby's situation you can read here but I'll try to summarize
Essentially Ruby was attacked by a fox and survived, but has been off since. She also had a crop impact and I performed surgery. I'm not concerned about that, surgery went well and it looks good.
My concern is...
So the title is the basics of it. I have a mille fleur rooster and some Rhode Island reds, a lavender d'uccle and a few salmon faverolles.
The salmon faverolles look really rough, he has their heads bald from mating. I'm sure it's not good with the sun too. I know it's not mites because if so...
Hi folks, I'm back again temporarily for just this post. I'm really just curious to hear other folks stories of crop impact surgery and how it went. Preferably by those who have performed it themselves. I appreciate it. I'll talk about why I'm asking below.
So this past week I lost two chickens...
didn't really want to come back to this site, but figured I'd see if anybody knew what this could be or what I should do. I had another chicken with a respiratory illness just like this but when they were chicks, treated her with Vetrx, and then she made a full recovery. I'm almost wondering if...
What is up with the ads on mobile? I could barely get an image to upload, and now my reply won't upload at all. It just keeps taking me to some dingy bra shop.. of all places.
Hello!! Just wanted to start a thread to see if anybody else has a "bagle hound" and if they would be kind enough to share photos and/or stories. :) Just bassets and beagles are great too!
Basically why I started this is I love beagles, I have a beagle basset jack russell terrier mix I saved...
Just figured I'd make a post for if anybody wanted to throw any tips or anything down. I've been raising chickens for years but just never decided to incubate. They always raised their own chicks and I guess why fix something that ain't broke? I have an interest in it now though, so figure I may...
Has anybody tried this particular mix? I have a mille fleur rooster with my faverolle hens and this is ultimately my goal, whether or not they'll go broody on their own or if I'll have to invest in an incubator. I feel like it'll be a nice cross but figured I'd ask
Just curious if this is something anybody else has done. My dad built the coop over a decade ago, just like it says it's an old big walk in freezer that's been converted, windows, roosts, and nest boxes added, that's the "indoor coop" as we call it. Then the "outside coop" which is an addition...
Decided to go ahead and post my flock :)
I have 6 salmon faverolles, 3 rhode island reds, one mille fleur d'uccle and one gray d'uccle
Here's my rooster, named Father Time, he's the mille fleur d'uccle bantam
Here's my favorite salmon faverolle, named Ruby, she had some sort of respiratory...
Thanks for having me!!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Not new, I've been raising chickens for over a decade. Our first chickens were a pair of golden sebrights named Kernel corn (or colonel?) and popcorn.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
As of...
