I thought she was being broody and not leaving the nest so I picked her up today to move her, it appears that she was losing feathers underneath her and she was being very quiet and...

Rid of my first 6 roosters...

Well, I raised my nine birds from eggs and I hatched out eight roosters, one died month ago but the other seven started attacking each other just recently. I supposed it was due to being stuck in the coop for the last week due to fridgid weather. Anyway, I sold six today... wasn't sure about it...

Just my luck.. In July I bought 4 silkie peeps and 7 silkie eggs, hatched 5...Out of the nine birds I have been raising I believe 7 possibly eight are roosters. The largest rooster and most colorful one has been the king of the coop until recently. I would say two nights ago one of the younger...

Do weasels attach in daylight or only evening??

Just curious, my chicks are in their run all day and protected against most predators but I believe a weasel could get through the top chicken wire if it tried. My concern is if they only hunt at night they should be fine because I put them in the coop every evening, but if they hunt at day they...

I am very curious when we can offer our chicks other food besides medicated crumbles? We have seen them catching and eating moths and they love it.... they actually chase each other around trying to get the moth for themselves!... can we introduce worms, bugs, or grass at this stage?
