Hi all,
I'm not a member of the club, and since I didn't see any current info on their website www.newenglandbantamclub.org, I sent an email asking about the show. Entries are accepted post-marked through Nov 16, so there is still time to enter!
If you would like a pdf copy of the show book...
Note: Payment must be received within an hour of auction end so eggs can be shipped Monday morning. Failure to pay will result in eggs being offered to next highest bidder.
Update as of Sun, 6:50 PM EDT: 12 eggs PLUS 2 BONUS EGGS FROM MY LAVENDER SERAMA PROJECT (see post #7). Pictures of chicks...
This sweet little girl is almost a year old. She has already produced many chicks for me. Unfortunately, I just lost her mate to a predator. So now I am ready to sell her and move on. She deserves to go to someone who has more time than I do to work with this rare color.
Simply breed her to a...
UPDATE: Auction closed early due to seller's remorse!
This pair of Bantam Dun Laced Wyandottes is less than a year old. I purchased them last fall from a local breeder. Both are proven fertile and I've hatched several chicks from them. However, they would do best paired off with nice quality...
Well, this was my original question that I was about to post right before I decided to double-check the search page one last time:
"Whenever I use the search function to find a keyword or phrase, it seems to only return a thread, not an individual post. Since many of these threads can be...
For sale is a trio of Midget White turkeys. These must be picked up in Ayer, MA (01432). I purchased 10 poults from Ideal Poultry in May 2009. I only planned on keeping 1 turkey for myself, but grew so fond of these sweeties that I ended up with 4. Well, I need to make room and must sell the...
Even though I ordered the minimum number of poults, I still received 10 male Black Star (Black Sex-Link) packing peanuts. They supposedly make great fryers, but I simply do not have the heart (or room) to raise them for meat. If you are interested, please PM or email me.
Howdy fellow BYC'ers,
I just wanted to let you know about my great new chicken T-shirt design. Please consider placing an order at http://www.cafepress.com/loveofchickens to help support my chicken addition... I mean, my chickens!

Thanks for looking!
So I've read that it's normal for the occasional spot of blood to appear on an egg. My girls have been laying for several months and I typically find one every week or two. Well, here is a picture of just such an egg I found yesterday. Is it just me or does that look like a chicken?
Just thought I'd share the link to my chicken cam. Hope you enjoy it!

I have a pair of young (about 3 1/2 months) mini ducks. They are black east indies. It is hard to tell from the picture, but they are very small, especially the female. Would like to find them a new home so I can focus on just my chickens. Asking $30 for the pair.
The RIR is about 12 weeks. The blue SF is about 10 weeks. Available for pickup only in Ayer, MA. I will consider driving to meet you if you are far away.
My daughter recently turned 9. Her birthday party theme was Littlest Pet Shop. She has been collecting LPS toys for many years, and they are still one of her favorites. Her cousins were curious to know how many LPS pets she has, so they collected 'em all up and counted them. Final number...
This is Eileen, my poor little BLRW that hatched out with a slipped tendon. She is almost 12 weeks old, but is very small for her size because of her deformity. I don't know how stunted growth would affect sexual development. Anyway, here are some pics. Please let me know if I need to change...
One of my 4-day old Welsummer chicks refuses to eat her chick starter. She only pecks at it a few times before losing interest, even though I tap and show her where it is. I nearly lost her yesterday, as she was very weak. I nursed her back to a semi-decent state with sugar/vitamin water and...
My daughter's partridge silkie has always acted and sounded like a hen. Until this morning, when she fluttered out of the coop and made the quietest little crow! We got her at a swap and don't know her age. I'm guessing she has to be at least 4 months old, because she was already much bigger...
I ordered 10 Welsummers (available as str. run only) and 5 BO pullets from Cackle on July 1. They arrived yesterday, all alive with one extra Welsummer. I had read that Welsummers are sexable by the color pattern on the back of the head/neck. I do have some that are clearly pullets with the...
This is supposed to be a RIR pullet from feed store. "She" is 7 weeks old. What do you guys think? I think I already know the answer, unfortunately, but am hoping against hope that I am wrong! And is it normal for a RIR to have the occasional white-tipped feather and dark green in the tail?
I picked up a couple Black East Indie ducklings at a swap, yesterday. Bill is the larger one, and he is about one week older than Jill. Not sure of their exact ages, but Jill is still very little. The person that sold them to me said they were raised with chicks. They were crying at the...
As tygab mentioned in her "fun to watch" post, she and I split an order of chicks from Ideal through our local Agway. Like hers, mine too are amazingly active. They were so lively, stuffing their faces with food and taking lots of drinks. They did NOT want to hold still for their portraits...
