I got sick of the chicks pooping in their waterer and TSC does not sell hanging waterers for chicks. So I converted the small waterer I had into a hanging one.
I hope it is clear on how to make it. I will provide more details if needed.
Just make sure to level the cup prior to Zip-Tying...

I have some nice Delaware hens and would like to breed them. I live in the city and cannot have a rooster. What would be a good solution to breed them?

My Delaware laid a nice hard egg this morning. This evening she laid one with a paper thin, soft shell. The yolk was fine. What's up with this? She has been laying for a week.

Woo-hoo, my first of five hens (Black sexlink) just laid her first 2 eggs. Boy, was she proud. Bauk-bauk here, bauk-bauk there for 2 minutes straight. About an hour later she laid another. They are kind of small, but I expect they will get bigger.

We are a homeschool family and I am trying to get more self sufficient, especially with a family of 7. The coop and run is almost complete. We live in town so we can't have any roosters. I am trying to learn as much about chickens as possible, but have learned there is too much to learn.
I am having a hard time finding breeders in the Augusta, Ga area. I am a newbe and want some hens for laying. Anyone have any suggestions? I thought about mail order, but I would like to take the family on a small trip and hand pick them.
