I've posted a few times about a sick hen (sorry!), and I'm at a loss as to what to do with her. She's been like a zombie for over a week - she won't eat or drink (drinks a little when I make her), has her feathers fluffed up and mostly just stands or sits ion the corner. I suspect it's mareks...
I took on a stray rooster, he went lame after a few months, I had him put down and tested , positive for mareks. My hens are 15 months now, had been vaccinated, one has fallen sick. Won't eat, feathers puffed up, mostly just stands there. I have her inside, roaming (and crapping) around my...
I took in a rooster a few months back, he gradually became lame and after reading the forums I had him put down and tested. Came back positive for Marek's. Now my favorite Easter Egger hen is not herself... wanders around with feathers puffed up, seems confused, shows a little interest in food...
I thought I lost my bantam easter egger almost a month ago, and today I found her tucked into the goat barn behind a bale of hay on top of 15 eggs. I couldn't see anything by candeling, so I broke one - just a rotten egg. Same with 2 more I tried. My rooster was about 10 times her size, so I...
I adopted a stray rooster a friend found in Los Angeles a few months ago, and I fear he may have mareks. I noticed he had a slight limp when I got him, And I think he was about 4 months old (he's since gotten bigger and slowly started crowing). A few weeks after I got him, two of my hens had...
While I was out of town, my girls started laying in a new place far away from the coop, and now one has been sitting on 14 of them for a week. I adopted a rooster a few months ago, but don't know if any "action" is going on. Now the temps have dropped to the 30s at night, and I'm worried about...
Trying to get a hen through what I think is Coryza...
She seems to just want to sleep. Any tips - should I force water or food? I've never done this before.
I took in a stray rooster almost a week ago to add to my 4 hens (all almost one year old). Yesterday I noticed my favorite girl (an easter egger) had a runny eye - by night time it was white and foamy. Today no discharge, but she's clearly sick. No interest in food, can barely keep her eyes...
I have 4 hens, 7 months old, that have always gotten along great. One is an easter egger bantam, and she stopped laying and has been sitting on the other's eggs for nearly a month I think. I take her out and put her in front of food and water a few times a day and remove the eggs. My barred rock...
My girls are 6 weeks old, and I recently noticed 2 of the 4 have puffy eyes, and seem to be missing feathers around the eye. They seem otherwise healthy and happy, and I don't see any mites. The other two seem fine.
Should I be concerned? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
What I'm finding on searches is a mixed bag - should I be concerned?
I have 6 chickens all about 2 months old, only one has a runny nose and I noticed sneeze a few times. otherwise she seems fine - happy and healthy.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
