Hi!
Looking to buy any breed of fertile hatching eggs that will produce egg laying chickens. I used this site over 5 years ago and it worked out great for this. Looking to get back into the chicken game.
Looking around I feel like $20-$25 per dozen of fertile eggs is a fair price. Shipping...
Okay, so I hatched about 60 quail and I'm not really sure which ones are male/female, but I know there is a ton of eggs, but they just lay them on the ground I would like to harvest the eggs and I have a little nesting box that is set up about 6 inches off the ground. I can take a picture if...
Hello! I tried my Little Giant out again and had 13/14 eggs hatched! Those are doing great and using the drinking nipple on day 2! I have 40+ eggs in my Hova-Bator Genius and already 4 are hatched and I can see 5 starting to crack out! It looks like a pretty good hatch out of both incubators so...
Hello!
I am having a really good hatch rate! Currently 10/14 hatched and have one zipping at the moment! 5 Hatched on day 20 and have been in the incubator for over 24 hours so I took them out and put them in a box with a heat lamp! I think the heat lamp is too close because they were panting...
Its day 23 and there is one egg that has been pecked from the inside out a little bit. This happened on day 22, but nothing has changed since then! Any tips or comments is greatly appreciated! All other eggs have had nothing happen to them
Thanks for any help!
I ordered some eggs from a user here on BYC, 13 Buff Orphington eggs arrived intact and I let them sit. I placed them in the incubator that has been at a constant temperature and constant humid (until day 18 I pumped it up!). It has a automatic rotator and on day 18 I took out the rotator and...
Hello!
I have finally gotten the art of homemade automatic waters down! This auction includes everything you need besides the watering nipples, which I can purchase from FarmTek for you! If you would like tips on building your own I am more than happy to help, just toss me a PM! This auction is...
This is my completed brooder that works very well!
- I don't have to check the water or food often
- Very easy to refill water/feed without even putting my hands in the brooder
- Nice area for the chicks to hang out and drink and eat all day!
Here is what I started with... just some scraps...
So I received my nipples in the mail today and added them to my 5gal gravity pvc waterer, I've seen them everywhere on this site!
They work when I press on them and don't leak at all!
I have 6 baby chicks and "showed" each one how to use it, but I'm not sure if they are actually using it, its...
I just joined and have made a few other posts, but this is what I just built this weekend (5/1/2011)!
Its a basic box with a lid on the top, I will be putting the light in a fixture and adding a "auto feeder" and "auto waterer" (getting nipples from farmtek soon!).
I will be updating pictures...
Like the title says! Here it is!
I haven't used it since 2003, but I had 23/30 chickens hatch!
I don't have the manual, but I read that I need to put water to humidify it, and it needs to be around 75 degrees F.
I'm not exactly positive about the rotation and things of that sort so...
I'm back in action with chicken projects!
I last incubated chickens in 2003 with 23/30 hatching... and all 23 made it to adult size... thus having a packed coop! And after that "fun", we decided that, after we ate around 20 of them, to keep 3 as laying hens!
I just set up a little "coop" for...
